Blazers Keeper of the week!
The Blazers have no match day this week, so we are focusing on training for our report this week. In this week’s training session, as well as plenty of time spent in match situations, the focus was on finishing and defending. With the finishing on show from the coaches not being as top tier as the kids efforts! Over the season, we have seen brilliant footy skills on show from all of the kids who have joined us each week. They always bring lots of energy and enthusiasm to tra

A Blazers and Bullets showdown!
This game and the weather had it all. A friendly match up between the Blazers and the Bullets took place at Dixie in the sunshine and the rain! Two sides who pride themselves on their next passing plays and putting on the pressure from the front to win the ball back. In both halves, both sides had periods where they showed how much progress they have made throughout the season. View from the dugout: A good test for the boys and I was delighted with how they stood up to the ta

The Blazers field a great performance against Ashby
After a slight hiccup where one half of the pitch was a rounders field. The coaches were initially left ‘stumped’ but with cones down to mark out the lines the game went ahead. Both teams put in a great ‘innings’, every player ‘fielding’ an impressive performance. With plenty of ‘swings’ at the ball in which all ‘bases’ were covered, with plenty of brilliant passing, and great defending. In defence for both sides ‘no ball’ went a miss with tidy marking, tackling and clearing

Astro-nomical performance from the Blazers
A close encounter between well matched sides as the Blazers took on Coalville Robins on the astroturf. Both goalkeepers were on top form to keep the scoreline low and the drama high. Superb passing and moving helped carve out numerous opportunities for the Blazers. A neat passing play and tidy finish saw Nathan on the scoresheet. Across the pitch, lots of hard work and running for the team both in defence and attack was on show. View from the dugout: A really entertaining gam

Teamwork makes the dreamwork for Blazers!
Another week and another brilliant performance by the Blazers. Despite the final scoreline, the Blazers delivered one of their most impressive performances. From the first whistle, the team pressed with confidence, moved the ball around nicely, and showed fantastic teamwork in defence and attack to pressure the attackers and win the ball back. Every one of the Blazers worked hard for the full match, showing real character to keep their fans on the edge of the respect barrier!

Great finishing was the difference
Another battle took place this morning, this time involving the AFC Market Bosworth Blazers. In what proved to be a battle of the midfield areas with both defences keeping the strikers well away from goal. Some great finishing was required to see the ball hit the back of the net and to break the defensive resistance. Player of the Match - Freddie Player of the Match - Freddie Showing the way with determination to win the ball back and fine footwork to dribble the ball forward

Another level for the Blazers
Cup games back-to-back for the Blazers, this time facing up against Next Gen in the Sheila Scott Cup. This week, Freddie and Wyatt were not able to play and we hope to have them both back soon. We hope you feel better soon Wyatt . An end-to-end game played out in the Tamworth sunshine. The first half saw the Blazers come so close to opening the scoring, the Next Gen goalkeeper stopped every shot coming his way. After a calm and composed half time team talk, the Blazers came

Luca ‘Phenomenal’ for Blazers
The Blazers were back in league action as we welcomed Ibstock. The Blazers had a full squad available with birthday Boy Daniel bringing sweets for the whole team! The game was a very competitive one with both teams really showcasing their hard work and ability. Daniel - made a wonderful save in the first half to deny a certain goal. Then followed it up with a diving save in the second half Wyatt - another goal for him as he demonstrated his strength on the ball. Drove the

Up for the Cup!
After a number of postponed games due to the wet weather, the Blazers were back. Facing a trip to Next Gen Destroyers and a chance to progress in the cup. Cup fever was evident on the sidelines with the Blazers fans cheering every shot on goal and each smooth passing move. With shots on goal a plenty at both ends of the pitch, it made for a competitive match. A special note to both goalkeepers who pulled off a number of class saves throughout the match. BLAZERS ICE COLD IN ATTACK!
With the winter Olympics under way, Blazers trip to Gillway was a gold medal level game. With more goals than games in the ice hockey, more twists and turns than the snowboarding, the end to end football quicker than the speed skating, and a team performance that was levels above any of the ski jumping. View from the dugout: ‘It was a tough game they were a good team. We battled till the end which is what it’s all about’ Goalscorers: Levi and Wyatt . Player of the Match: Wya

A GAME OF TWO HALVES FOR BLAZERS!
The Blazers matched up against Cottage Farm Milan in a game that was very much a game of two halves. The Blazers in the first half flew forward, making the Milan defence dizzy with passing and dribbling that would not be out of place from the Brazil team! In the second half they had to show more grit than the local gritters in January. Working together as a team to slow down attacks and defend their own box to stop incoming shots. View from the dugout: I thought that was a ve

NO JANUARY BLUES FOR THE BLAZERS!
Against Coalville Robins with the windy weather at Newbold, the Blazers have swept into January with the goal in their sights. Woolly hats and gloves for the fans on the sidelines, but no need for a scarf or two on the pitch. The Blazers look red hot, keeping the opposition on their toes with skilful dribbling with the ball, and silky passing plays. The efforts in defence cannot be overlooked, the brick wall that is the Blazers back line keeping the opposition as far away as

BLAZERS BACK WITH A BANG!
The Blazers are back and with a bang louder than any Christmas cracker during the festive break. Looking sharp in attack and accomplished in defence. The back garden shooting practice during the break has paid off for the Blazers, as they treated the watching fans with close range finishing, and long range efforts, to make it look like they were never away for the festive break. View from the dugout: Brilliant performance from the lads. They looked pleased to be back playing.

DONT LET THE GOALS END
After a few washouts, the Blazers were back for another epic matchday against Ashby Knights, hoping to end 2025 on a high. With the Ultra's (Blazer fans) sleigh-in it, and after an age for coach Sam to figure out if the respect barrier was knotty or nice, the Blazers thought they would treat them'elf to a few goals! There was nothing elfish about their play. They passed around the holiday cheer with slick passing plays, and snow one stopped running for the team throughout the

AND THE CROWD GOES WILD
The Blazers travelled through the wind and rain to Dosthill for what proved to be an epic cup clash. With everyone available for this match, the Blazers were dreaming of a cup run and the ‘Ultras’ dreaming of an open top bus tour at the end of the season! Both sides battled against the driving rain and a very muddy pitch, and battled even harder on the pitch. Goals for both sides were a plenty even with the uphill slope on the pitch seeming to be an advantage somehow. The sec

BLAZERS GROWING ON AND OFF THE PITCH!
The Blazers welcomed Stonydelph Sabres on the back of some really positive displays. Unfortunately Josh was still unwell but still boasted a strong squad of 9 players. The game was an enthralling contest, end to end with both teams showing determination and quality. Daniel made a couple of excellent saves first half. Then second half he somehow clawed the ball away from the top corner. His bravery was also fantastic, rushing out at the feet of an attacker. James , his energ

BLAZERS CONTINUE TO IMPRESS
An away trip for the blazers, in windy but sunny conditions. During the pre match warm up the boys were looking great in their new kit courtesy of our sponsor Thornton Nurseries and coffee shop. Not long after, Coach Scott did his best Bambi on ice impression in the mud with some of the players vowing to never pass the ball to him again! A welcome return to the team for goalkeeper Daniel and Wyatt , but we were missing Josh who was unwell and unable to make the game. We wis

GOALS GALORE
The weather may have been chilly, but the finishing was red hot from the Blazers in an away game against Stoneydelph. Both sides finding the back of the net on a number of occasions. For the Blazers six different players hitting the back of the net. Goalscorers were: Nathan , Levi , James , Chance , Freddie , and with his first goals for the team Easton . With Halloween just around the corner, we saw lots of tricks (the good kind!) and what a treat we had from the Blazers. Fr
