A GAME OF TWO HALVES FOR BLAZERS!

The Blazers matched up against Cottage Farm Milan in a game that was very much a game of two halves. The Blazers in the first half flew forward, making the Milan defence dizzy with passing and dribbling that would not be out of place from the Brazil team! In the second half they had to show more grit than the local gritters in January. Working together as a team to slow down attacks and defend their own box to stop incoming shots.

View from the dugout:

I thought that was a very competitive game which is what we want for the boys. We showed how adaptable we are as a team. We dug in and showed determination in the second half.

Goalscorers: Wyatt, Levi and Josh.

Player of the Match: Daniel

Daniel: Always a safe pair of hands when called upon. In the second half he made a brilliant last ditch save to stop what was a certain goal. Man of the match for his bravery, and several crucial saves he made throughout the game.

Easton: Was leading and guiding the team with on point on field instructions, and smart suggestions to his team mates particularly when organising them to mark up. Always found to be offering an option to his team mates, with clever close control of the ball when receiving a pass.

Luca: He seemed to win every single tackle that he made. He marshalled the defensive line with confidence and bravery to make a strong tackle, win the ball back and find a threw ball to start off attacks.

James: Seems to have the ball glued to his foot. He is able to control any type of pass and loose ball, making the process look easy peasy. Always keeping an eye on the attacker but finding space to move forward with the ball.

Chance: He is becoming a master of the fake and turn. Making plenty of space to showcase his passing quality and ability. He was involved all over the pitch, making challenges or making things happen in attack.

Wyatt: Back amongst the goals, one being a top bins special. Showed his amazing passing range and ability to be the playmaker. Our captain for the game, led the team brilliantly.

Levi: When shooting at goal the ball it stays hit! Amongst the goals with brilliant finishing and a keen eye for the space in behind the defenders to cause trouble for defenders.

Freddie: When the team has its back to the wall. Freddie shows how determined he is, winning the ball back, or to make sure that the danger is removed. Another showing his willingness to support his team mates all game.

Nathan: When the ball reaches him, its rarely lost again. His first touch and control is outstanding. Moving the ball in to space to find a pass, or to drift past the defenders, all whilst making it look very easy.

Josh: A problem for the defenders all game. Moving to find dangerous spaces, or to disrupt the oppositions build up play. After his 1st goal last week, he was on the scoresheet again this week with a bullet strike.

Go on the Blazers!
