ROSES FINISH YEAR ON A HIGH
A strong year for the Roses which started with a defeat to Coalville and ended with a win against Epworth, the team has navigated a promotion and a County Cup semi-final in that time. On a cold but sunny morning in Newbold, the Roses took their own warm up getting ready for the match. Struggling with illness and absence, the Roses were missing Lenna , Esme , Sophie and Chloe B but still had 12 available. Additionally Chloe G was struggling with a foot injury and Caris als

BELLES WIN TIGHT GAME
The last game of 2025 for the Belles as we welcomed Sporting Markfield to a sunny but cold Newbold. The Belles were still without the injured Eliza , but otherwise had a full squad available. A change in formation and personnel in positions. The Belles went to a back 4, with Lola C switching to left back and Zoe slotted in at right back. Darcy went into an unfamiliar role of center back, as Ava S played on the right of a 3 player attack. The Belles started really well, Av

FREYA THE DEFENSIVE SLAYER
Today was probably one of the best team games for the Sonics, passing and working for each other and with minimal coach guidance, it was an absolute pleasure to watch and a game all Sonics should be immensely proud of. There were some amazing saves in goal from David and Ben when he had a stint, to the defensive line of Louie , William , Ben and Freya working as their own team to prevent the advances from the opposition, to the centre midfielders, wingers and strikers wor

THE BULLETS ARE BACK!
After a few weeks without competitive football due to persistent rain, AFC Market Bosworth returned to action with an away fixture against Chasetown Youth FC. Despite the long journey, the players were eager to get back on the pitch, and that hunger was clear from the very first whistle. AFC Market Bosworth took control of the game early, dominating possession and dictating the tempo throughout. The team passed the ball with confidence and composure, moving it sharply and int

DONT LET THE GOALS END
After a few washouts, the Blazers were back for another epic matchday against Ashby Knights, hoping to end 2025 on a high. With the Ultra's (Blazer fans) sleigh-in it, and after an age for coach Sam to figure out if the respect barrier was knotty or nice, the Blazers thought they would treat them'elf to a few goals! There was nothing elfish about their play. They passed around the holiday cheer with slick passing plays, and snow one stopped running for the team throughout the

VETS FINDING THE KEY TO SUCCESS
The Vets entertained Mossdale on a heavy pitch at Ravenstone. As it's not our usual home ground, Captain Scott was fiddling with keys like an episode of take your pick. However Des O’Connor didn't appear but Dicko did to help him set the goals up. Before the gaffer Eddy could speak, Griffo was lubing himself up in goose fat like an Aunt Bessie Roast Potato. Eddy decided to stick with the same 3-5-2 formation, knowing that a win would put the vets in a great position for

GIRLS ENTERTAIN IN THE BATTLE OF BOSWORTH
We could have written headline news the "War of the Roses" or "The Belles Ring Out for Christmas" but the best news headline was 28 girls representing the Bosworth badge on the pitch and a young referee in Nat from the U18 and Men’s Team officiating and the Girls did indeed entertain in the U15 Girls Battle of Bosworth. It was a case of third time lucky as the inter-club county cup clash of the AFCMB U15 Belles versus the AFCMB U15 Roses which had fallen foul of the weather

DRAGONS STRUGGLE AT BURTON JOYCE
After all the postponed matches due to the rain, the dragons also expected to be called off. However to everyone's surprise the game away at Burton Joyce was ON! Conditions were horrendous and it didn't stop raining from the moment we left to the moment we arrived home. We started the game with a minute silence for the tragic loss of an ex player at the club. The dragons send their condolences. We struggled from the off and really lacked the intensity we needed. We couldn't

THE SONICS SPIRIT NOT DAMPENED
Another wet game for the Sonics, lower on numbers today and a boot crisis en route! Slower start from the Sonics leaving them behind within minutes and unfortunately it rained constantly for the first half, but after the goal the Sonics came alive, worked together as a team and had put everything we had been working at in training into play. The Sonics individual skill, but more importantly, their teamwork to get the ball, one or two touches, pass the ball, move again to rece

SONICS BRAVE THE WEATHER
What a WET and COLD game the sonics played! I think only the linesman today (Big Stu) was LOVING the weather… he was reminiscing on his youthful rugby days! Today was a day for perseverance, resilience, teamwork, honesty to say I am cold can I be subbed and warm up and pure grit and determination! Today was also David’s birthday and between the sticks was cold and wet, what he had to do in terms of saves he did really well. Ben went in goal in the second half and was in def

AND THE CROWD GOES WILD
The Blazers travelled through the wind and rain to Dosthill for what proved to be an epic cup clash. With everyone available for this match, the Blazers were dreaming of a cup run and the ‘Ultras’ dreaming of an open top bus tour at the end of the season! Both sides battled against the driving rain and a very muddy pitch, and battled even harder on the pitch. Goals for both sides were a plenty even with the uphill slope on the pitch seeming to be an advantage somehow. The sec

ROSES BACK TO WINNING WAYS
After some challenging games against Nuneaton Borough, Rugby Town and Epworth Forest we had near a full squad available against GNG with Lily and Beth the only absentees. A rare afternoon kick off with the Roses wearing their new Fuchsia Away Shirts sponsored by One Communication Solutions Ltd. U15 Roses Away Kit The ask from the Coaches was to try and pass the ball, in recent games when under pressure we have been clearing the ball without any plan on keeping possession. It

BULLETS COME OUT FIRING!
It was a big game for the AFC Market Bosworth Bullets this morning as they faced off against Kingsbury Aztecs FC — and what a performance it turned out to be! The Bullets started the game a little slowly, with a few stray passes early on putting them under pressure. The opening ten minutes were a bit nervy as the boys tried to find their rhythm, but once they settled, there was no looking back. The team began to move the ball with confidence and composure, showing real qualit

WILLIAM AND BEN SUPERB FOR SONICS!
New kit day today thanks to GR Brickwork Ltd , the Sonics looked smart and ready for action in it! The opposition were good at surrounding the ball and did make it hard for us to get the ball away, but as coaches we asked them to keep their positioning to allow them space and it worked. Jack as striker was making space and fighting hard for every ball and communicating well with his teammates. Max T had a few positions today like many as we were working on different positio

THE DOGS BULLOCK!
A positive start from the Bozzy Vets and there was a level of intensity which we haven’t always seen, the lads seemed really up for this cup match and with several players missing we still managed to put out a squad of 16. Aaron came in goal for the absent Jim making his second appearance after his debut earlier in the season. The chances were really coming Bosworths way but our final ball was lacking. Dicko rattled the bar with a fierce shot and then shortly after at the

BLAZERS GROWING ON AND OFF THE PITCH!
The Blazers welcomed Stonydelph Sabres on the back of some really positive displays. Unfortunately Josh was still unwell but still boasted a strong squad of 9 players. The game was an enthralling contest, end to end with both teams showing determination and quality. Daniel made a couple of excellent saves first half. Then second half he somehow clawed the ball away from the top corner. His bravery was also fantastic, rushing out at the feet of an attacker. James , his energ

FANTASTIC PERFORMANCE FROM THE DRAGONS
Fantastic performance from the boys today. We knew it was going to be a tough match as I asked them all for high intensity and work rate. We were to push high in attack but to defend as a team and to get every player back behind the ball and make a net around it. We done exactly as I asked them. They really were superb and by far the best they have been all season. The work rate from all of them was fantastic and I really couldn't have asked for more. Finished 4 - 1 but at th

STRONG FOUNDATION BEING BUILT BY THE BELLES
Sunday morning saw AFC take on a high flying Anstey Nomads side who had made scoring goals habitual. A very positive training session, that saw tactics, discussion of structure and most importantly happy faces, prefaced the fixture. Great numbers from AFC meant that the girls could be as fresh as possible throughout the game. Firstly, the girls were incredibly respectful in a minute's applause for a Thurmaston youngest who passed away recently. AFC’s thoughts are with family

MAGIC MIKE BAGS HAT-TRICK
Coming off a heartbreaking last minute draw last weekend against Quorn, AFC Market Bosworth needed a big reaction. Coming into the first 10 it was a cagey affair but around the 15 minute mark Rory picked up the ball in a dangerous area and wrapped a lovely strike into the far corner to put the boys in blue and black up 1-0. Shortly after Bosworth’s number 10 and MOTM magic Mike put the home side 2 up with a tidy finish into the left side netting. After this goal opposition

ROSES BOW OUT TO SUPER STRIKES
The Roses faced Epworth in the League Cup, just several games after their 2-2 draw earlier this season. The Roses were missing Kayleigh , Esme and Poppy which would pose some defensive challenges in the full back area. We opted to change formation to try and cover those areas and compact centrally whilst maintaining two upfront. We defended valiantly but posed little threat going forward, generally relying on self made opportunities through Chloe G and Ellie . Evie and Ki
