Against Coalville Robins with the windy weather at Newbold, the Blazers have swept into January with the goal in their sights. Woolly hats and gloves for the fans on the sidelines, but no need for a scarf or two on the pitch. The Blazers look red hot, keeping the opposition on their toes with skilful dribbling with the ball, and silky passing plays. The efforts in defence cannot be overlooked, the brick wall that is the Blazers back line keeping the opposition as far away as possible.
View from the dugout:
‘Another good display from the boys, I thought we passed well and scored some nice well worked goals’
Goalscorers: Levi, Wyatt and Josh.
Man of the Match: Josh.
Daniel: Martinez who? The Villa keeper could learn a thing or two from Daniel. So brave to dive on the ball when there is onrushing players. Always alert to make close range saves with his hands and feet, that were Premier League quality.
Easton: If he had batteries they would never run out! He is always on the move, picking a perfect pass, sprinting to get forward and cause problems for defenders, or making sure he’s part of the defensive brick wall that is the Blazers back line.
Luca: Our super sweeper! Does he have a super power? He seems to be able to know where a passing is going before the attacker passes it. Always picking up the pass and moving forward with confidence.
James: He makes roadrunner look slow. You can always rely on him when tracking back that he has his running shoes on, to speed back, win the ball back and move into space to find a forward pass.
Chance: Never fear Chance is here! He plays with no fear. He’s always involved, confidently winning the ball back high up the pitch, or being there for the classy through ball for the on rushing teammates.
Wyatt: Did we see Martin Odegaard at Newbold? Moving forward from midfield with purpose, driving at the heart of the defence with skilful dribbling plays or slick passing. Back on the scoresheet, arrowing it in to the bottom corner.
Levi: Like Jamie Vardy! He has that strikers instinct, with a sneaky step over to baffle the defenders. Popping up in the right place at the right time, picking up a goal or two with calm and cool finishing.
Freddie: The crowd were heard asking, ‘is that Cristiano Ronaldo?’ On one of his mazy, dribbling runs he seemed to go past about 12 players! Always on his toes, moving with the ball, or working hard to help in defence.
Nathan: He’s here, he’s there, he’s everywhere! He finds spaces in between the opposition defence and midfield that causes all sorts of problems. Taking control and passing the ball really well to set up attacking plays.

Josh: His first goal of the season, with a Harry Kane style confidently struck penalty into the bottom corner. He hassled and hustled defenders when leading the forward line. In defence, putting everything in to making last ditch and play stopping tackles.
