Great finishing was the difference

Another battle took place this morning, this time involving the AFC Market Bosworth Blazers. In what proved to be a battle of the midfield areas with both defences keeping the strikers well away from goal. Some great finishing was required to see the ball hit the back of the net and to break the defensive resistance.

Showing the way with determination to win the ball back and fine footwork to dribble the ball forward, the man of the match went to Freddie for a performance that reflected how hard the Blazers had to battle.

Missing from the team with week was Nathan and Daniel and we hope to have them both back for the next game.

View from the dugout:

Thought the boys were excellent. A tough game with not many clear-cut chances, they did us all proud this morning

Goalscorers – Wyatt and Easton

Freddie – Worked really hard across the midfield to win the ball back and bring the whole team forward with weaving and direct play. A deserved player of the match.

Wyatt – First half he was in the thick of it. Pressing the ball really well to win it back. Scoring with a pile driver of a shot. In the second half he stepped up to go in goal and showed a safe pair of hands between the posts.

Luca – Even with 3 players around him. He kept going, whether that was making a key tackle or moving the ball forward with passing out to the wings.

Easton – Top bins! As the ball came out from a corner he found a classy finish. Showcasing a nice turn with the ball and an eye for a pass to keep the ball moving forward.

Levi – Worked really hard for the team. Popping up to make several tackles to stop forward runs. A number of dribbles and turns in the box to create shooting chances.

James – Made a number of key clearances. Swept up any loose balls and opportunities for on rushing strikers with clever positional play throughout the game.

Chance – Showed his steel, never shying away from a tackle or to put on the pressure to win the ball. Finding space to receive a pass in key areas in the opposition’s half.

Josh – In the first half he brought out the retro goalie shirt and donned the gloves with a dominate display. In the second half, came very close to a goal with a blast of a shot.

Go on the Blazers!
