The Blazers travelled through the wind and rain to Dosthill for what proved to be an epic cup clash. With everyone available for this match, the Blazers were dreaming of a cup run and the ‘Ultras’ dreaming of an open top bus tour at the end of the season!
Both sides battled against the driving rain and a very muddy pitch, and battled even harder on the pitch. Goals for both sides were a plenty even with the uphill slope on the pitch seeming to be an advantage somehow.
The second half display from the Blazers showed determination and a real quality on the ball in difficult conditions. A goal with almost the last kick of the game settled the tie, high fives and cheers a plenty on the pitch, with the ‘Ultras’ (Blazer fans) going wild in the mud in the ‘stands’.
View from the dugout:
“They have certainly showed brilliant teamwork and togetherness. No one would have liked them conditions to play in, but that was epic”
Goalscorers: Levi, Luca, and Nathan.
Man of the Match: Chance
Chance never shy’s away from a challenge even with opposition twice his height. A gritty determination to carry the ball and make chances for his teammates. Man of the match this week!

Daniel was an absolute wall, the last line of defence and made a number of top notch saves. With a calm and collected approach to distributing the ball.
James reads and defends the through ball so well. Stepping up to collect the ball and drive forward. As the game closed out running almost the length of the pitch to make a brilliant last ditch tackle.
Wyatt our captain for the day, controlling the midfield area, keeping the passing moves flowing brilliantly. He has an eye for a dangerous through ball. When stepping in goal towards the end he made a top bins fingertip save.
Easton showcased the Blazer determination, drive and he works so hard for his teammates throughout the game. Linking so well with forward players, with tricky dribbling and passing to find players in space.
Freddie had the defenders tied in knots throughout. Shielding the ball away from any defender who dared to get near him. Finding spaces on the touchline and driving at the defence.
Nathan he loves a tidy finish and so does his supporters! He seemed to pop up everywhere, showing an amazing work ethic. Pressuring the opposition or making forward plays happen.
Levi showing lots of tricks to baffle defenders. Another goal again this week, leading the forward line brilliantly, finding spaces the defenders miss to mark.
Luca another on the scoresheet with a very nice finish. Never ever turns away from a tough challenge. Stepping in to a number of positions today with a real confidence about how he plays.
Josh the Blazers welcomed him back after illness. This week stepping out of goal (no retro shirt this week!). Giving hassle to the opposition, pressuring opposition in defence, or being sneaky to find space behind the opposition defence.
Everyone involved today in playing, coaching, or supporting made the team very proud in what was horrible weather and muddy conditions. Well done Blazers!
