What a comeback from the Bullets!
The Bullets travelled to Kingsbury to treat the travelling supporters to an action-packed morning of football, and what a game they got!
With the warm-ups complete, both teams got off to a competitive start, creating chances at either end but neither side able to find the breakthrough. Just past the midway point of the first half, a defensive error from AFC allowed Kingsbury to capitalise, firing a shot into the bottom corner to take the lead. With Kingsbury looking dangerous on the counter-attack, the Bullets struggled to find their organisation after conceding, and the hosts struck again to go into the break with a 2-0 advantage.
The second half saw the Bullets line up in a different formation, with management challenging the boys to raise their game. And raise it they did! 💪
AFC came out with a renewed determination, upping the work rate, pressing higher and starting to play with greater cohesion. Just a few minutes into the half, the Bullets pulled a goal back with a well-taken finish to get themselves right back into the contest.
That goal sparked the Bullets into life, and the momentum began to swing firmly in their favour. With confidence growing and the team working together, AFC found the equaliser to make it 2-2!
The final 20 minutes were nothing short of incredible. A well-worked passage of play saw the Bullets complete the turnaround and take a 3-2 lead. However, Kingsbury weren't finished yet. A free kick in a dangerous area gave the hosts an opportunity, and a superbly struck effort found the net to bring the scores level once again at 3-3.
With both sides pushing for all three points, the game became end-to-end, with counter-attacks threatening at either end. Kingsbury came agonisingly close to taking the lead, hitting both the post and the crossbar in the dying minutes.
But there was still time for one final twist! A long-range effort from AFC took an awkward bounce in front of the keeper, who was unable to keep it out, sending the Bullets into celebrations as the ball found the back of the net!
FULL-TIME: Kingsbury Aztecs 3-4 AFC Bullets!
From two goals down to securing a dramatic victory, this was a fantastic comeback from the Bullets. The second-half response showed real character, determination and teamwork, with the boys refusing to give up when the odds were against them.
Credit to Kingsbury for playing their part in a brilliant contest, but the Bullets showed tremendous fighting spirit to turn the game around and bring all three points home.
A proper rollercoaster of a morning and another memorable performance from AFC! 💙🖤

🏆 PLAYER OF THE MATCH – WALTER 🏆
This week’s Player of the Match was awarded to Walter for an outstanding all-round performance! 💪💙🖤
Walter started the game as a holding midfielder, where he was excellent in the middle of the park, winning the physical battles, competing for every ball and doing all the basics brilliantly.
Midway through the game, Walter was moved to fullback, and once again, he stepped up and carried out his duties without fault. Then, following an injury, he was asked to slot in at centre-back, taking on yet another challenge without hesitation.
Up against a big, physical centre-forward, Walter showed tremendous composure, strength and determination, holding his own throughout. Cool, calm and collected, he read the game well, dealt with the pressure and did everything asked of him.
To perform so consistently across three different positions in one game is a testament to Walter’s attitude, versatility and understanding of the game.
A fantastic team performance from Walter, showing exactly what it means to put the team first and do whatever is needed for the badge. A thoroughly deserved Player of the Match!
Well done, Walter! 💪💙🖤⚽
