A lesson learned for Bullets
A home fixture for the Bullets as AFC welcomed Haunchwood, but from the first whistle, it was clear this was going to be a difficult afternoon.
A very uncharacteristic slow start saw AFC struggle to get going, with Haunchwood coming out the stronger of the two sides. They showed more desire, won the battles and seemed to want the ball that little bit more. It wasn't long before Haunchwood took the lead, and AFC struggled to find any rhythm or get a foothold in the game.
Haunchwood continued to pile on the pressure, and AFC simply couldn't find an answer. Before the Bullets knew it, they found themselves three goals behind, with the performance falling well below the standards we've come to expect from this group.
There was, however, a positive to take into half-time, as AFC started to find their feet in the dying minutes of the first half, playing some nice football and managing to pull a goal back to give themselves something to build on.
Unfortunately, the second half followed a similar pattern, with Haunchwood continuing to apply pressure and AFC struggling to get going. The fight, energy and determination that had been so evident at the start of the season just weren't there today.
A Lesson Learned!
Football will always have its ups and downs, and today was a reminder that we have to be ready to compete from the very first whistle. We know what this group is capable of, but talent alone isn't enough; the desire, work rate and fighting spirit have to be there every single game.
For the Bullets, it's a defeat we'll take on the chin, learn from and move forward. One result doesn't define us, and we know there's plenty more to come from this group. Heads up, hard work on the training pitch, and we'll be ready to go again next week!

Player of the Match – Jacob

Despite a difficult afternoon for the Bullets, this week's Player of the Match was awarded to Jacob for an outstanding display of work rate and determination.
Jacob covered every blade of grass, continuing to work hard from start to finish, refusing to let the result affect his effort or attitude. Whether getting stuck into challenges, tracking back or doing the hard yards for the team, Jacob never stopped giving his all.
Despite not wearing the goalkeeper's gloves, Jacob also made several crucial goal-line clearances, showing great awareness and a willingness to put his body on the line to help his teammates.
On a day when things didn't quite go our way, Jacob's attitude, commitment and determination stood out. Sometimes football isn't about the result; it's about the character you show when things get tough, and Jacob demonstrated exactly that.
👏 Well deserved, Jacob! Keep up the hard work!
