The comeback kids!
After a flying start to the season, the Blazers were caught off guard by Next Gen’s explosive opening this week. However, this team is built on grit. Rolling up their sleeves after an legendary half-time team talk, the Blazers completely turned the game in their favour. The second-half display was a masterclass in resilience against top-tier opposition, proving exactly why the Blazers are the team to watch this season.
View from the bench:
At halftime I said we won’t get everything our own way and we’ve got to show resilience, thought the boys certainly showed that
Goalscorers - Levi and Noah.
Blazers of the Week - Whole team.
Daniel - It was a tough game for the defence this week. Even with the pressure on Daniel kept a calm head, taking control of the loose ball and making great saves throughout.
Wyatt - A battling performance, disrupting the oppositions plays in the middle of the park and spraying passes out wide all game.
Noah - A superb free kick and a birthday goal. When moving with the ball at his feet, he makes dodging defenders look easy.
Freddie - Showed the team the grit they needed. He rarely loses the ball either with it at his feet to dribble forward or to win it back in the challenge.
James - Made several key runs back to win the ball from the opposition counter and kept that running going when skipping past challenges on the wing.
Nathan - Is one of the team playmakers, has a vision on the ball to find a class pass or a ball in to space for the Blazers to run on to.
Luca - Even with a poorly foot, he puts in the hard yards. On a number of occasions he won the ball with a great interception and shifts the ball quickly to move forward with it.
Chance - The crossing king, sneaking the ball past defenders with a excellent touch or a twist and turn. Makes a big difference in the attack to create a chance.
Josh - Linking up the play when up front. Finding himself amongst the assists with a inch perfect through ball after close control.
Levi - Welcomed back into the side, and back amongst the goals. Always composed and his goals showed that calm in the goal mouth scramble and a tidy bottom corner finish.
Keep going Blazers!
