First-class performance

First away day. First-class performance. Seven goals. Clean sheet. 💪

Today’s fixture marked AFC Market Bosworth’s first game on the road, as the Bosie boys travelled to face Sporting Loughborough in blazing sunshine and perfect footballing conditions.

With confidence sky-high, AFC came flying out of the blocks and wasted no time making their mark. Just five minutes in, today’s Player of the Match, Adie, reacted quicker than the Loughborough defence to toe-poke the ball home and put Bosie 0–1 up!

From the restart, Market Bosworth’s forward line, including debutants Tom N and James P, continued to put the home side under pressure. Around the 10-minute mark, James P was played through one-on-one with the keeper and calmly slotted home a well-taken finish. 0–2!

🔥 The Bosie boys were in the mood!

Loughborough were struggling to cope as AFC turned up the pressure. New lad Tom N powered his way through to make it three, before James P smashed home his second of the game to round off a dominant first-half display.

Half-time: Sporting Loughborough 0–4 AFC Market Bosworth.

The second half got underway, and midfield maestros Rory H and Owen S continued to dominate, outworking and overpowering the home side in the middle of the park.

Any occasional Loughborough attack was quickly dealt with by centre-backs Dec and Blake 💪, while right-back Kieron and POTM Adie kept the wings under control and pushed forward whenever the opportunity arose.

Adie was rewarded for another tireless performance with his second goal of the game to make it 0–5!

Next up was skipper Rory H, who produced a beauty, curling the ball into the bottom-right corner to put Bosie six goals to the good. 🎯 0–6!

And there was still time for one more! Tom N battled his way through to bundle the ball over the line and grab his second of the afternoon, putting the finishing touch on a superb team performance.
