Quiz Night 2026
The club hosted what has almost become their yearly quiz, another fine set of questions, this time from Quizmaster Simon who hadn’t double booked himself on a stag do this year! Dubious and in some circles unrepeatable team names from the Men’s Team and the Vet’s, never grow up chaps! It was another great night, well organised. Thanks to Move Fitness, Fourwards Restaurant, The Red Lion Barlestone, The Windmill Inn, Hannah Batham - Tropic, Mark Brown plus many others who donat

Bullets fire back in draw
After what felt like an eternity without a home fixture, AFCMB Bullets finally returned to home turf to face a well-organised Kingsbury Aztecs side in an entertaining and hard-fought encounter. From the opening whistle, AFC started brightly, playing some excellent football and moving the ball with confidence. Their passing and movement kept Kingsbury on the back foot for much of the first half, with the Bullets creating several promising chances. Despite their attacking press

They played some really good football, passing and intensity off of the ball, everything in training started to shine through. Up for the Cup!
After a number of postponed games due to the wet weather, the Blazers were back. Facing a trip to Next Gen Destroyers and a chance to progress in the cup. Cup fever was evident on the sidelines with the Blazers fans cheering every shot on goal and each smooth passing move. With shots on goal a plenty at both ends of the pitch, it made for a competitive match. A special note to both goalkeepers who pulled off a number of class saves throughout the match. Esme Magnificent In Draw
An away trip to the current champions, in the sunshine on a 3G surface awaited the Belles. We were looking to bounce back after a disappointing defeat in our last league game, but we knew it was going to be a tough game against strong opposition. Numbers were stretched again with Evie , Amie , Monica , Iris , Lols and Eliza being unavailable. That said we had Sydney and Ava L available and Lois returned to Belles action. The game started and it was an even affair, the op

BULLETS ARE BACK!
A strong return to action for AFC Market Bosworth as they secured an important three points in a hard-fought contest against Albert Village. After a lengthy break between fixtures, Bosworth started brightly and looked sharp from the first whistle. Despite the heavy, muddy pitch making free-flowing football difficult at times, AFC moved the ball well and created several promising chances early on. The breakthrough came following sustained pressure, with Bosworth showing compos

BLAZERS ICE COLD IN ATTACK!
With the winter Olympics under way, Blazers trip to Gillway was a gold medal level game. With more goals than games in the ice hockey, more twists and turns than the snowboarding, the end to end football quicker than the speed skating, and a team performance that was levels above any of the ski jumping. View from the dugout: ‘It was a tough game they were a good team. We battled till the end which is what it’s all about’ Goalscorers: Levi and Wyatt . Player of the Match: Wya

SONICS FIND THEIR RHYTHM
Away game today and in true Sonics style we were slow to start! Eventually the boys and Freya found their rhythm and there was some lovely left hand side play between George , Leighton , Ben and Tom . George had worked his socks off in the first half and got a goal to ensure we went in level at half time. David made some solid saves in the game and Louie , Freya , Leighton and Ben in defence were working as a defensive line to close down the play. The opposition had a s

A GAME OF TWO HALVES FOR BLAZERS!
The Blazers matched up against Cottage Farm Milan in a game that was very much a game of two halves. The Blazers in the first half flew forward, making the Milan defence dizzy with passing and dribbling that would not be out of place from the Brazil team! In the second half they had to show more grit than the local gritters in January. Working together as a team to slow down attacks and defend their own box to stop incoming shots. View from the dugout: I thought that was a ve

JIMBO A BRICK WALL IN DRAW
Weather: Baltic Pitch: Surprisingly playable Morale: Questionable Sobriety levels: Mixed The Bosworth boys arrived with genuine fears the match would be off due to the weather… only to be cruelly greeted by a perfectly playable pitch. Cue visible disappointment, mild shock, and several lads questioning their life choices. A few mutterings of “it’s freezing” echoed across the car park, but Griffo rallied the troops, corner flags went in, pitch got set up, and the inevitable b

PERFORMANCE OF THE SEASON FOR ROSES
The Roses faced Anstey Nomads for the first time in league competition, only previously playing against one another in an end of season tournament. A good venue for football at Loughborough Grammar School and the pitches held up well from recent rain. A good warm up followed with a detailed team talk and an honest conversation about the effort required, the Roses had a full squad to choose from. It was a strong start from the Roses with Anstey testing a few balls through but

BULLETS WITH IMPRESSIVE RETURN TO ACTION
After a 6–7 week break without competitive football, AFC returned to action with an impressive performance against Next Gen, starting the match firmly on the front foot and showing no signs of rust. From the opening whistle, AFC set the tempo, displaying a strong work rate both in and out of possession. Defensively, the team looked organised and solid, while going forward they moved the ball sharply and with confidence. Despite enjoying good spells of possession and creating

SONICS DIG IN!
Cold windy feeling to the game but pleased to have a game! Hard start for the sonics with a definite ‘dig in there’ atttude required in the first half, due to the strong structured opposition and losing players through injury. The second half we were more composed as a team on the ball, passing better and the energy and want for the ball had upped the anti. Max as striker had a brilliant game today and was strong to attack the ball, Jake , Louie , Jenson , Tom in the middle

NO JANUARY BLUES FOR THE BLAZERS!
Against Coalville Robins with the windy weather at Newbold, the Blazers have swept into January with the goal in their sights. Woolly hats and gloves for the fans on the sidelines, but no need for a scarf or two on the pitch. The Blazers look red hot, keeping the opposition on their toes with skilful dribbling with the ball, and silky passing plays. The efforts in defence cannot be overlooked, the brick wall that is the Blazers back line keeping the opposition as far away as

ROSES RETURN
The Roses were back after a month off with Christmas break and bad weather meaning cancellations in January. Missing Evie through illness, the Roses had everyone else available for this match against Rugby Town, a contrast to last time we played when we were short on numbers and lost 5-1. A similar pattern to our previous game where Rugby started the stronger and the Roses were behind, 2 goals down inside the first ten minutes this time. The first a shot from outside the box

BLAZERS BACK WITH A BANG!
The Blazers are back and with a bang louder than any Christmas cracker during the festive break. Looking sharp in attack and accomplished in defence. The back garden shooting practice during the break has paid off for the Blazers, as they treated the watching fans with close range finishing, and long range efforts, to make it look like they were never away for the festive break. View from the dugout: Brilliant performance from the lads. They looked pleased to be back playing.

FANTASTIC TO BE BACK FOR SONICS!
Five weeks of no game so was fantastic to be playing today! Slow start from the sonics after some fabulous work in training over the last two weeks. When we connected the ball between players, played those triangles we had worked on and put in tackles we were good, we just needed more of that and some luck on our side! Hitting the cross bar on two occasions, balls into the box and just not getting down quick enough for us to bury into the back of the goal and infairness the o
