Sonics teamwork leaves coaches beaming with pride

Sonics had the bare 9, and the teamwork on display made all coaches and parents so incredibly proud.

In goal was David who was tested throughout the game, he made some crucial saves and had a great game. Defensively Max was first to the ball, controlled the play and was solid throughout.

Freya defensively worked hard, eager to get to the ball first and had a good constant tussle with their striker.

George as left back and left winger helped to keep control, he worked for every ball, ran as quick as the wind and was consistent throughout.

Tom sat just in front of the defence today and was that extra man to help defend but also the player to progress the ball into an attacking play and he did that extremely well.

Just in front was Jack who worked relentlessly throughout the game, always trying to retrieve the ball and pass it to the wings or striker.

Jake on the right wing was on form, working hard to be the runner along the wing, never giving up, looking to receive and release and he had a brilliant game.

James as striker wasn’t at full fitness but what a team player to be out there today, what James does well is uses his strength to receive, keep and shoot and he was rewarded with two well taken goals.

Player of the Match - William

The player of the week this week went to William, he was right wing for the majority of the game and right back for a little bit, he settled into a new position today very well, listened and used his speed and strength to run the line and was always looking for the cross, a few cheeky little ‘skills’ on display as well.. at least it wasn’t a megs on us coaches!
