A tale of two halves

The Dragons have had a very difficult season so far. Today they travelled to Nottingham to face Phoenix.

We started slow and played with low confidence throughout the first half, we were second to the ball, gave too much space and made errors and we came in at half time 2-1 down after only having the one chance, one shot on goal.

Half time team talk was tough, confidence was low. I told them they were giving them too much respect and they have got to pick their confidence up, play with passion and believe in themselves. Work hard, give everything and most importantly enjoy it. Play with instinct, play with passion work hard. The clear message for the second half

We did just that! The boys second half were fantastic. They worked their socks off, they closed down, won the ball, played with passion and were relentless.

I was so proud of each and everyone of them second half. We could have scored 10!

The match finished 4-2 to the Dragons! They walked of the pitch winners showing exactly what hard work and passion can give. They gave the performance of the season and deservedly earned their first win of the season.

Player of the Match went to each and every one of them, they all deserved it and shown what teamwork can give. Super proud of that second half performance lads
