Tough match for Roses against undefeated Ashby

The Roses travelled to Ashby Ivanhoe FC to face the Shooters were undefeated this season in League competition.

Both teams with a bare eleven and on a warm morning had to work through a few niggling injuries throughout the game.

The Roses were up against it and despite defending well went 2-0 down to a couple of errors in the first half.

Katie in an unfamiliar role for the team, playing upfront had the Roses only real chance in the first half as she hit a good shot from distance. Kayleigh later joined her upfront as Ellie dropped deeper to try and help us get control of the game.

In the second half, Ashby hit two efforts with power from just inside the box to make it 4-0 and then scored a fifth with a last minute in swinging corner.

A difficult match for the Roses, that said we turned up and had a go. Ashby were good value for the win.

Player of the Match - Kiri

Player of the Match was awarded to Kiri, she was red in the face after due to the hard work she put in. It was a real good performance from her against a really strong player. She has had to adapt her game this season and has played in a more defensive role for the team.
