AFC delivered a disciplined and determined performance as they hosted Albert Village, showing great teamwork and character throughout the match.
The team was set up in a new formation, giving players different roles and responsibilities on the pitch. The first half was closely contested, with both sides battling hard for possession and looking to gain control of the game.
Midway through the first half, AFC were awarded a penalty after sustained pressure in the attacking third. The penalty was taken confidently and calmly slotted into the back of the net, giving AFC a deserved 1–0 lead heading into the half-time break.
During the interval, management and players discussed adjustments and decided on a new tactical approach for the second half, including a change of shape. The changes had an immediate impact. From the restart, AFC began to play some excellent football, moving the ball well and creating chances.
Their efforts were rewarded when AFC doubled their advantage following a bursting run from the wing and a smart near-post finish.
Albert Village responded midway through the second half, pulling a goal back following a quick counter-attack, setting up a tense finish. However, AFC showed excellent composure and character, refusing to panic under pressure.
The determination paid off when AFC added a third goal to seal the victory and ensure all three points stayed at home.
Overall, it was a fantastic team performance, with every player working hard, adapting to new roles, and showing resilience when tested.
