AFC returned to winning ways with a well-rounded team performance against Coton Green FC, overcoming player absences with smart tactical adjustments and disciplined football throughout.
With several players unavailable, AFC made changes to their formation, and from the first whistle the team adapted brilliantly. The new setup allowed AFC to play confident, controlled football during the first half, maintaining possession well and forcing the opposition to work hard off the ball.
Their creativity paid off midway through the first half when a dangerous, driven corner caused problems in the box. The delivery was met perfectly, and the ball was slotted home to give AFC a deserved 1–0 lead heading into halftime.
The second half presented a new challenge, with AFC now playing against a strong, disruptive wind that affected both sides. The halftime team talk focused on keeping the ball on the ground and continuing to play positive football where possible.
Coton Green attempted to use the wind to their advantage with more direct play, but AFC’s defence stood firm, coping well with the pressure and staying organised throughout. AFC continued to create chances at the other end, showing determination to extend their lead.
Late in the game, AFC delivered the decisive moment. A well-timed flick-on found an AFC player in space, who produced an excellent volley into the net to seal the victory and secure all three points.
A confident and disciplined display from AFC ensured a deserved win and a strong return to form for the Bullets.

Player of the Match
This week’s Player of the Match award was shared between Jacob and Koen following two outstanding performances in the heart of midfield.
Jacob delivered an energetic and exciting display, showing a fantastic engine in the middle of the park. He worked tirelessly to win tackles and regain possession, while also entertaining with brilliant dribbling and confident attacking play. His willingness to take on players and showcase his joga bonito–style footwork kept the opposition on the back foot throughout the game and helped drive the team forward.
Koen also produced an excellent midfield performance, showing great discipline in his role as the holding midfielder. He followed his instructions perfectly, working hard to win both first and second balls and keeping the team ticking with simple, effective passing. Koen’s ability to win possession back in key areas proved vital and gave AFC a strong foundation to build attacks from.
Both players showed determination, teamwork, and excellent work rate across the full match, making them thoroughly deserving joint winners of this week’s award. A fantastic all-round performance from both players.
