Hutch and “The Four Seasons”
You’ve heard of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, this was all about Hutch and the Four Weather Seasons. The boys were instructed to arrive at 13:10pm to get the pitch set up and have plenty of time to warm up. On arrival, the boss aka Eddy and assistant manager Griffo parked up and were shocked to see the lads already hard at it setting up the pitch. A rare sight… and one that suggested the boys meant business today. However it wasn’t all plain sailing, Chinese Lee was

Willsy brushing up his skills
The Bosworth boys rolled up to the quarter-final with a slightly depleted squad, a few carrying knocks, and at least one carrying the effects of a questionable pre-match preparation. With the sun blazing (in March?! ), most of the lads got changed pitchside, soaking up some vitamin D and pretending it was all part of the warm-up routine. The gaffer made it clear the changing rooms weren’t needed… but, unsurprisingly, Lee and a couple of the lads ignored instructions and went

EL UNCLASSICO AT HEATH LANE
Real Bosworth versus FC Barwellcelona, after last week’s call off saw the local derby El Unclassico finally get going. 3G Pitch | Ibiza in the changing rooms | Interim boss chaos was the headline news. The Arrival – Confidence High, Reality Pending The Vets rolled in one by one, assembling in the car park like a budget tactical summit. The expectation? A well-drilled side… with Spanish flair as we faced FC Barwellcelona. Spoiler alert: they were well-drilled. The Spanish flai

JIMBO A BRICK WALL IN DRAW
Weather: Baltic Pitch: Surprisingly playable Morale: Questionable Sobriety levels: Mixed The Bosworth boys arrived with genuine fears the match would be off due to the weather… only to be cruelly greeted by a perfectly playable pitch. Cue visible disappointment, mild shock, and several lads questioning their life choices. A few mutterings of “it’s freezing” echoed across the car park, but Griffo rallied the troops, corner flags went in, pitch got set up, and the inevitable b

BAD INTENTIONS AT ALANS WAY!
No bad tidings but Sporting Old Boys brought Bad Intentions to Alans Way, with the presence of the Elevation Wrestling Tag Team Champions. Regardless, the potential of a 3 count (points) meant the boys turned up buzzing with excitement, although the conditions were anything but friendly. Cold, damp, and wet summed it up nicely. The boss laid down the law early doors: play football and don’t get dragged into the nonsense, especially against an opposition known for loving a cru

VETS FINDING THE KEY TO SUCCESS
The Vets entertained Mossdale on a heavy pitch at Ravenstone. As it's not our usual home ground, Captain Scott was fiddling with keys like an episode of take your pick. However Des O’Connor didn't appear but Dicko did to help him set the goals up. Before the gaffer Eddy could speak, Griffo was lubing himself up in goose fat like an Aunt Bessie Roast Potato. Eddy decided to stick with the same 3-5-2 formation, knowing that a win would put the vets in a great position for

THE DOGS BULLOCK!
A positive start from the Bozzy Vets and there was a level of intensity which we haven’t always seen, the lads seemed really up for this cup match and with several players missing we still managed to put out a squad of 16. Aaron came in goal for the absent Jim making his second appearance after his debut earlier in the season. The chances were really coming Bosworths way but our final ball was lacking. Dicko rattled the bar with a fierce shot and then shortly after at the

MAGIC MIKE BAGS HAT-TRICK
Coming off a heartbreaking last minute draw last weekend against Quorn, AFC Market Bosworth needed a big reaction. Coming into the first 10 it was a cagey affair but around the 15 minute mark Rory picked up the ball in a dangerous area and wrapped a lovely strike into the far corner to put the boys in blue and black up 1-0. Shortly after Bosworth’s number 10 and MOTM magic Mike put the home side 2 up with a tidy finish into the left side netting. After this goal opposition

TIGHT AFFAIR WITH QPR
Ravenslea was host to a 3rd vs 5th battle of two sides who were synonymous in form. AFC came into the game coming away from a disappointing previous game with only vengeance and demanding justice on their mind. Their opponents were starting to creep into a habit of netting goals after putting away 10 in their last 2, so defensive structure was vital. As expected, QPR started strong, threading passes through a very strong and physical midfield. Slippy conditions proved very c

BOSSIE STATEMENT IN THE MEADOWS
Sunday's performance was away to a red hot Mossdale side who have scored an eye watering 24 goals in their last 3 games. However Bossie were prepared with players coming back from injury and illness ready to thwart this seemingly inexorable force. Unsurprisingly, the oppo started rapidly with a prestissimo tempo moving the ball left and right before placing a ball over the top of the Bossie back line, dropping just beyond Blake's head and onto the foot of the Mossdale number
