Today’s game is the fourth round of the cup competition that AFC won last season.
Bosie went on the road to Atletico first team. 3rd in there respected premier league which outlines Bosie as the true underdogs.
From the start of the whistle, Bosie flew out the blocks and really surprised Atletico. It wasn’t long before today player of the match Owen Smart managed to start a neat one-two with Nat in the middle of the pitch to race on towards goal and clinically execute his shot to put AFC 0-1 up.

AFC was truly amazing during this first half and produced at times some of their best football to date.
The back line was solid in Kieron, Charlie, Blake and Rees M. Our midfield led by skipper Rory H, Isaac, Dec and Owen controlled the game and didn’t allow the home team any time on the ball.
Big well done to the hard working Mike up front that was supported by Nat, continued to chase down the opposition.
What a first half and Bosie went into half time 0-1 up but should have been more.
The second half gets underway and Atletico came out with more purpose and pushed hard. There reward came and drew level 15 mins into the second half.
There domination continued and 15 mins later Magna managed to take the lead 2-1.
This brought the Bosie Boys back to life and with a little tactical shuffle and 10 mins left of the game, up stepped Alex to flick a lovely through ball to Rees M, who smashed the equaliser into the net to deservedly bring AFC all square.
Full-time 2-2 and straight to penalties.
Without dwelling on the results of the penalties and Gibbo’s heroics to save the day, it just wasn’t to be a win for AFC.
Atletico Magna 2 - 2 AFC Market Bosworth (Atletico win 4-2 on penalties)
We take nothing away from the quality on display today of AFC. The development of this young team continues and it’s only a matter of time before more silver ware finds its way to the blue side of Bosworth.
Next game see Bosie at home to second in the League on Sunday 11th January with a 10.30am kick off.
Come on you Bosie Boys.
