BLAZERS CONTINUE TO IMPRESS
An away trip for the blazers, in windy but sunny conditions. During the pre match warm up the boys were looking great in their new kit courtesy of our sponsor Thornton Nurseries and coffee shop. Not long after, Coach Scott did his best Bambi on ice impression in the mud with some of the players vowing to never pass the ball to him again! A welcome return to the team for goalkeeper Daniel and Wyatt , but we were missing Josh who was unwell and unable to make the game. We wis

BELLES STRETCHED AGAINST HINCKLEY
An afternoon kick off last Sunday for the Belles, which saw the Belles squad stretched. Eliza , Scarlet and Monica were all unavailable due to injury and then Lola C was unwell. This meant a shuffle around in formation to four in defence as Ava H went to left back. The game started off at a good pace, Ava S made a crucial interception then Lols bravely won a header whilst under pressure. Up the other end Darcy drove forward from her own half but her cross evaded everyo

TIGHT AFFAIR WITH QPR
Ravenslea was host to a 3rd vs 5th battle of two sides who were synonymous in form. AFC came into the game coming away from a disappointing previous game with only vengeance and demanding justice on their mind. Their opponents were starting to creep into a habit of netting goals after putting away 10 in their last 2, so defensive structure was vital. As expected, QPR started strong, threading passes through a very strong and physical midfield. Slippy conditions proved very c

OLIWIA BEING MONITORED BY POLISH FA
Oliwia at the Polish Consulate Oliwia had a meeting at the Polish Consulate in Manchester, where a small group of talented girls were invited for interviews to help them get into the national team. The interview went really well and the national coach, scouts, and representatives from the Polish FA were very impressed. Oliwia will now be closely monitored and has a great chance of being called up for the Poland U15 women’s national team training camp! It's thoroughly deserv

ROSES STRUGGLE IN RUGBY
The Roses were missing Ellie , Evie , Katie , Lily and Poppy for this match. An early KO in Rugby, a roadblock on the A5… it felt like it might be one of those days in the winter chills at Butlin Road before we even got there. The Roses started well but after 10 minutes Rugby scored with an unfortunate deflection off a Roses defender from a powerful shot which left Lyla with no chance. 1-0 quickly became 2 when a cross found the lively Rugby Town winger who finished high i

BELLES SPIRITED AGAINST SAPPHIRES
Sunday morning saw AFC take on a well numbered strong Loughborough Sapphires side. The Belles went underway with a bare 9, however that shouldn’t take away from their unbeatable mindset. AFC trialed a new formation that was more defensively orientated allowing different players to get a feel for a new position. AFC got out of the blocks quickly, sending the ball outside quickly to our two pacey technical wide midfielders in Erin and Lilly . After suffering a goal from a swee

SONICS SUPERB TEAM SPIRIT
Early start for the sonics today and from the off they played with fantastic TEAM spirit! The passing on display today was some of the best we have seen all season but the ball in the first half just would not go in the net!! Leighton , George and Tom had some lovely triangle play which we had been working on the left hand side, with some lovely crosses of the ball from George into the box. Player of the Match - David David in goal was strong to the ball and commanded his

GOALS GALORE
The weather may have been chilly, but the finishing was red hot from the Blazers in an away game against Stoneydelph. Both sides finding the back of the net on a number of occasions. For the Blazers six different players hitting the back of the net. Goalscorers were: Nathan , Levi , James , Chance , Freddie , and with his first goals for the team Easton . With Halloween just around the corner, we saw lots of tricks (the good kind!) and what a treat we had from the Blazers. Fr

PISTONS FIRING AGAINST BULLETS
A tough one today — our first taste of defeat in a long while. We looked a little unsettled in the first half and struggled to deal with the physical side our opponents brought. A few errors and a couple of scrappy goals left us chasing the game. But the boys came out firing after the break. They showed real character, winning battles, putting in big tackles, and moving the ball around with confidence. We pulled it back to 3–2 and looked like we might complete the comeback, b

FANS ROAR ON THE BRILLIANT BLAZERS!
What a game we witnessed this morning between the Blazers and the Ashby Ivanhoe Vikings. Both sides gave it their all, in what was a close game throughout. Each side showed confident dribbling, superb passing and a steely determination to win the ball. With only a few league games under their belt, the Blazers are showing how well they are developing as individuals and as a team making fans and coaches alike proud of their performance. View from the bench: “I’m so proud of th

BOSSIE STATEMENT IN THE MEADOWS
Sunday's performance was away to a red hot Mossdale side who have scored an eye watering 24 goals in their last 3 games. However Bossie were prepared with players coming back from injury and illness ready to thwart this seemingly inexorable force. Unsurprisingly, the oppo started rapidly with a prestissimo tempo moving the ball left and right before placing a ball over the top of the Bossie back line, dropping just beyond Blake's head and onto the foot of the Mossdale number
