After a few weeks without competitive football due to persistent rain, AFC Market Bosworth returned to action with an away fixture against Chasetown Youth FC. Despite the long journey, the players were eager to get back on the pitch, and that hunger was clear from the very first whistle.
AFC Market Bosworth took control of the game early, dominating possession and dictating the tempo throughout. The team passed the ball with confidence and composure, moving it sharply and intelligently - at times resembling a prime Real Madrid side in full flow. This slick approach created a steady stream of chances as Bosworth repeatedly found ways through the Chasetown defence.
Early in the second half, a slight misjudgement of a long ball allowed Chasetown Youth FC to grab a goal. However, this moment did little to disrupt Bosworth’s control. Defensively, the visitors remained solid and well-organised, dealing comfortably with any further threats and limiting Chasetown to very few clear opportunities. The overall defensive performance ensured Bosworth stayed firmly in control at both ends of the pitch.
It was a hugely encouraging display and an excellent return after a frustrating spell without fixtures. AFC Market Bosworth showed quality, discipline, and togetherness throughout, laying down a strong marker for the matches ahead.

The Player of the Match award was deservedly given to Koen following an outstanding all-round performance in midfield. His work rate throughout the game was exceptional, consistently covering ground and setting the tempo for the team.

Koen remained calm and composed on the ball under pressure, helping AFC Market Bosworth maintain control and rhythm in possession. He made intelligent decisions, recycled the ball effectively, and played a key role in linking defence and attack.
Defensively, Koen was just as influential. He won several important tackles, most notably in the heart of midfield where the battle was fiercest, breaking up play and preventing Chasetown from building momentum. His determination and awareness were vital to Bosworth’s dominance.
A commanding and mature display, Koen’s performance epitomised the team’s energy, discipline, and quality on the day.
