New kit day today thanks to GR Brickwork Ltd, the Sonics looked smart and ready for action in it!
The opposition were good at surrounding the ball and did make it hard for us to get the ball away, but as coaches we asked them to keep their positioning to allow them space and it worked. Jack as striker was making space and fighting hard for every ball and communicating well with his teammates. Max T had a few positions today like many as we were working on different positions but he was strong wherever he played and got a well taken goal for his efforts.
George on the left wing had some excellent space he had made and ran the line at pace, he also made some brilliant crosses into the box.
Jake on the right wing made space, worked to get into space and gained his first hat trick of the season today!
Louie mainly in the centre mid worked hard and with great determination throughout the game, he crossed a lovely ball from the wing allowing Jake to slot home.
Tom the forever work horse also in centre midfield fought for every ball and scored a lovely curling kick into the top corner.
Leighton was in defence but also centre midfield for a-lot today and as always he worked hard with some lovely footwork throughout the game.
James as striker or defender was strong to the ball and had some cheeky powerful shots at goal from in defence with a lovely run at the end of the game which got saved by the keeper.
Freya in defence held her position well and worked well with her fellow defenders, she even got her cheeky two throw ins she had asked for!
David in goal commanded the box and shouted for the ball whilst making some good saves.
Today there were two players of the week, one went to William due to his excellent vision in the game, his attitude to get first to the ball and take on the opponents, but to also cut it when required and pass to team mates, his overall work ethic was fantastic!

The second player of the week was Ben, in the midfield or as a defender he was always fighting to be first to the ball, strong into tackles and went for a few headers, in everything Ben does he is fearless and gives 100% effort.

Both William and Ben had grandads with them watching today… lucky charms in the crowd! Well done William and Ben and all the sonics today.
