Billy brave for the Dragons
A beautiful morning away at Ruddington with the sun shining, great to be back out on the pitch. We started strongly, going 1–0 up inside the first 10 minutes and playing some really good football, especially with the long ball over the top. Ruddington responded to make it 2–1, but Bosworth showed great character to pull it back to 2–2. A tough refereeing decision just before half-time saw us go in 3–2 down, but the lads kept battling. In the second half, playing downhill, we

Euan defends brilliantly
AFC Market Bosworth Bullets made the trip to face Haunchwood Hammers in a tightly contested away fixture that proved to be a hard-fought battle from start to finish. The first half saw both sides struggle to create clear-cut chances, with strong defensive work limiting opportunities in the final third. Possession was shared fairly evenly, but neither team managed to seriously test the opposition goalkeeper for much of the half. However, just as it looked like the teams would

From a warm up of are you listening can you do as asked, to a complete change of intensity second to none, teamwork in overload and listening as though they had heard the team talk! Eliza returns for Belles
Fresh from reaching the county cup final last week, it was a return to league action for the Belles. A strong squad of 16 for the game with Eliza making her return from injury! Zoe started at right back, as Amie slotted in at left back. Ava H moved forward to left wing and on the opposite side Iris also started. With the swirling wind and pitch surface, it was clear that the football on show probably wasn't going to be fast flowing. That said the Belles started strong, as

Sonics up for the cup!
Sonics met a team who in the first half had many players behind every ball and were that bit quicker to the ball. We conceded and in a way it was the kick to spur the Sonics on. James reacted shortly after and buried a ball into the back of the net and after a very well delivered corner into the box by Louie , Jenson pounced to score for the Sonics. In the first half David made a super save to help keep us in the game and his goal kicks to the sides were brilliant to see!

Bullets bow out of Major cup valiantly
On a bright morning with the sun shining, AFC welcomed Weddington Sports, a side from the division above, for a tough Round 2 Major Cup clash. From the first whistle AFC showed real intent, playing some excellent football and creating several early chances. Weddington’s defence held firm though, doing well to keep AFC from opening the scoring despite the pressure. Midway through the first half AFC had a corner cleared, which allowed Weddington to launch a quick counter-attack

The Roses return
After a lengthy six week lay off due to bad weather, cup rearranged fixtures and teams folding the Roses finally had a Sunday morning fixture. The Roses were without Esme , Lauren and Evie for the match and usually after a period without games the Roses struggle but in this match they started well, without instruction to, the team passed the ball well and looked dangerous in attack. Sophie made a good run forward with the ball and just as she did later in the game played a

Bullets fire back in draw
After what felt like an eternity without a home fixture, AFCMB Bullets finally returned to home turf to face a well-organised Kingsbury Aztecs side in an entertaining and hard-fought encounter. From the opening whistle, AFC started brightly, playing some excellent football and moving the ball with confidence. Ben bags a brace
First game in a while for the sonics, pitch more 11 aside than 9, only one sub and up hill first half… off the Sonics went! Every player today was a credit to themselves in how they played, worked as a team and kept their composure. They played some really good football, passing and intensity off of the ball, everything in training started to shine through. From David strong in goal to making key saves and distributions, to the defence of Leighton , Freya and William who a

Up for the Cup!
After a number of postponed games due to the wet weather, the Blazers were back. Facing a trip to Next Gen Destroyers and a chance to progress in the cup. Cup fever was evident on the sidelines with the Blazers fans cheering every shot on goal and each smooth passing move. With shots on goal a plenty at both ends of the pitch, it made for a competitive match. A special note to both goalkeepers who pulled off a number of class saves throughout the match. Esme Magnificent In Draw
An away trip to the current champions, in the sunshine on a 3G surface awaited the Belles. We were looking to bounce back after a disappointing defeat in our last league game, but we knew it was going to be a tough game against strong opposition. Numbers were stretched again with Evie , Amie , Monica , Iris , Lols and Eliza being unavailable. That said we had Sydney and Ava L available and Lois returned to Belles action. BULLETS ARE BACK!
A strong return to action for AFC Market Bosworth as they secured an important three points in a hard-fought contest against Albert Village. After a lengthy break between fixtures, Bosworth started brightly and looked sharp from the first whistle. Despite the heavy, muddy pitch making free-flowing football difficult at times, AFC moved the ball well and created several promising chances early on. SONICS FIND THEIR RHYTHM
Away game today and in true Sonics style we were slow to start! Eventually the boys and Freya found their rhythm and there was some lovely left hand side play between George , Leighton , Ben and Tom . George had worked his socks off in the first half and got a goal to ensure we went in level at half time. David made some solid saves in the game and Louie , Freya , Leighton and Ben in defence were working as a defensive line to close down the play. The opposition had a s

A GAME OF TWO HALVES FOR BLAZERS!
The Blazers matched up against Cottage Farm Milan in a game that was very much a game of two halves. The Blazers in the first half flew forward, making the Milan defence dizzy with passing and dribbling that would not be out of place from the Brazil team! In the second half they had to show more grit than the local gritters in January. Working together as a team to slow down attacks and defend their own box to stop incoming shots. PERFORMANCE OF THE SEASON FOR ROSES
The Roses faced Anstey Nomads for the first time in league competition, only previously playing against one another in an end of season tournament. A good venue for football at Loughborough Grammar School and the pitches held up well from recent rain. A good warm up followed with a detailed team talk and an honest conversation about the effort required, the Roses had a full squad to choose from. It was a strong start from the Roses with Anstey testing a few balls through but
