Belles rise to the challenge
How glad we were that the rain held off as the girls took to the pitch for their first match of the season. It was also their first experience of playing a full 40-minute game, and they rose brilliantly to the challenge, showing great effort, determination and teamwork throughout.

At the back, the dynamic duo of Erin and Evelyn put in a fantastic defensive performance. They worked tirelessly together, making important tackles, clearing danger and helping keep the opposition at bay.
Between the posts, Lola made some excellent saves and showed real confidence in goal. Later in the match, she stepped out into midfield and up front, where she impressed everyone with her pace and energy, causing problems for the opposition and covering plenty of ground.
Millie led the line with her trademark explosive runs as striker, constantly stretching the defence and creating opportunities. She also had a spell in goal and proved just as effective there, making some great saves and showing her versatility and willingness to help the team wherever she was needed.
Hazel made her presence felt all over the pitch, working hard in midfield and dropping back to defend whenever required. Her determination and work rate were evident from start to finish.
Arabella showed great versatility by playing both in midfield and as a striker. She worked tirelessly in both roles, helping link play together and always looking to make a positive contribution to the team.
Special mention must also go to Lexi, who didn't play in the match as she was feeling a little under the weather and understandably nervous ahead of the game. Despite this, she still turned up to support her teammates from the sidelines, showing fantastic team spirit and encouragement throughout.
Most importantly, every girl gave 100% and should be incredibly proud of their efforts. For their first 40-minute match of the season, they showed resilience, teamwork and a brilliant attitude. Well done, girls!
