On Sunday 21st June, we hosted our first tournament in which eight girls teams of similar experience or level were invited to take part. This was a bit of a test event for the club to trial the format and process at our venue in Newbold Verdon. Throughout the morning, we saw a relaxed but fun event for the girls with lots of enthusiasm and fantastic football. The final game of the season with the Belles needing a win to finish a very respectable 4th place. The Belles were without the injured Evie and Lols, with Caitlin and Ava S also being away. However we still had a squad of 16 players, as vice captain Monica took the armband in Caitlin's absence. The Belles started on the front foot which saw them take an early lead. The pacey Oliwia drove out wide with the ball and sent a cross into Elcie, who stroked the ball into the corner.

The Roses travelled to Sileby nice and early for what was their final game of the season. The Roses were without Sophie, Kayleigh, Lauren and Lyla however Lyla was able to watch and support the team. The game got underway on a narrow pitch and it was pleasing to see the girls still trying to play football. The Roses were up against GNG for the third time this season, previous meetings were a 1-1 draw in a friendly and a 2-1 win at Rushey Fields in the league. This league game promised to be a tight affair based on that. The Roses welcomed back Sophie and Lyla but were without Lauren and Tilly for this match. After a good warm up and team talk, the Roses were ready to go at Ravenstone. We worked on a new formation, which would give us lots of bodies forward in attacking areas. W

Last time out lost 4-0, this time round, the same scoreline, the only difference was the weather. The Roses arrived at Whetstone Athletic for an afternoon kick-off with the bare eleven, a consequence of Easter Holidays, a later kick off and general unavailability.
