Eliza returns for Belles
Fresh from reaching the county cup final last week, it was a return to league action for the Belles. A strong squad of 16 for the game with Eliza making her return from injury! Zoe started at right back, as Amie slotted in at left back. Ava H moved forward to left wing and on the opposite side Iris also started. With the swirling wind and pitch surface, it was clear that the football on show probably wasn't going to be fast flowing. That said the Belles started strong, as

The Roses return
After a lengthy six week lay off due to bad weather, cup rearranged fixtures and teams folding the Roses finally had a Sunday morning fixture. The Roses were without Esme , Lauren and Evie for the match and usually after a period without games the Roses struggle but in this match they started well, without instruction to, the team passed the ball well and looked dangerous in attack. Sophie made a good run forward with the ball and just as she did later in the game played a

Esme Magnificent In Draw
An away trip to the current champions, in the sunshine on a 3G surface awaited the Belles. We were looking to bounce back after a disappointing defeat in our last league game, but we knew it was going to be a tough game against strong opposition. Numbers were stretched again with Evie , Amie , Monica , Iris , Lols and Eliza being unavailable. That said we had Sydney and Ava L available and Lois returned to Belles action. The game started and it was an even affair, the op

PERFORMANCE OF THE SEASON FOR ROSES
The Roses faced Anstey Nomads for the first time in league competition, only previously playing against one another in an end of season tournament. A good venue for football at Loughborough Grammar School and the pitches held up well from recent rain. A good warm up followed with a detailed team talk and an honest conversation about the effort required, the Roses had a full squad to choose from. It was a strong start from the Roses with Anstey testing a few balls through but

ROSES RETURN
The Roses were back after a month off with Christmas break and bad weather meaning cancellations in January. Missing Evie through illness, the Roses had everyone else available for this match against Rugby Town, a contrast to last time we played when we were short on numbers and lost 5-1. A similar pattern to our previous game where Rugby started the stronger and the Roses were behind, 2 goals down inside the first ten minutes this time. The first a shot from outside the box

BELLES HIT TEN TO PROGRESS TO COUNTY CUP SEMI FINAL
An unfamiliar afternoon kick off and despite the recent poor weather the pitch was in brilliant condition. Everything was set for an enthralling County Cup quarter final! With Eliza out injured and a recent injury to Evie , the Belles still had a strong squad of 15 players. Darcy remained at center back with Lols , with Ava L slotting into left back. The game started well for the Belles, Elcie nearly got through to open the scoring but she didn't have to wait long to do i

ROSES FINISH YEAR ON A HIGH
A strong year for the Roses which started with a defeat to Coalville and ended with a win against Epworth, the team has navigated a promotion and a County Cup semi-final in that time. On a cold but sunny morning in Newbold, the Roses took their own warm up getting ready for the match. Struggling with illness and absence, the Roses were missing Lenna , Esme , Sophie and Chloe B but still had 12 available. Additionally Chloe G was struggling with a foot injury and Caris als

BELLES WIN TIGHT GAME
The last game of 2025 for the Belles as we welcomed Sporting Markfield to a sunny but cold Newbold. The Belles were still without the injured Eliza , but otherwise had a full squad available. A change in formation and personnel in positions. The Belles went to a back 4, with Lola C switching to left back and Zoe slotted in at right back. Darcy went into an unfamiliar role of center back, as Ava S played on the right of a 3 player attack. The Belles started really well, Av

GIRLS ENTERTAIN IN THE BATTLE OF BOSWORTH
We could have written headline news the "War of the Roses" or "The Belles Ring Out for Christmas" but the best news headline was 28 girls representing the Bosworth badge on the pitch and a young referee in Nat from the U18 and Men’s Team officiating and the Girls did indeed entertain in the U15 Girls Battle of Bosworth. It was a case of third time lucky as the inter-club county cup clash of the AFCMB U15 Belles versus the AFCMB U15 Roses which had fallen foul of the weather

ROSES BACK TO WINNING WAYS
After some challenging games against Nuneaton Borough, Rugby Town and Epworth Forest we had near a full squad available against GNG with Lily and Beth the only absentees. A rare afternoon kick off with the Roses wearing their new Fuchsia Away Shirts sponsored by One Communication Solutions Ltd. U15 Roses Away Kit The ask from the Coaches was to try and pass the ball, in recent games when under pressure we have been clearing the ball without any plan on keeping possession. It

STRONG FOUNDATION BEING BUILT BY THE BELLES
Sunday morning saw AFC take on a high flying Anstey Nomads side who had made scoring goals habitual. A very positive training session, that saw tactics, discussion of structure and most importantly happy faces, prefaced the fixture. Great numbers from AFC meant that the girls could be as fresh as possible throughout the game. Firstly, the girls were incredibly respectful in a minute's applause for a Thurmaston youngest who passed away recently. AFC’s thoughts are with family

ROSES BOW OUT TO SUPER STRIKES
The Roses faced Epworth in the League Cup, just several games after their 2-2 draw earlier this season. The Roses were missing Kayleigh , Esme and Poppy which would pose some defensive challenges in the full back area. We opted to change formation to try and cover those areas and compact centrally whilst maintaining two upfront. We defended valiantly but posed little threat going forward, generally relying on self made opportunities through Chloe G and Ellie . Evie and Ki

BELLES LOSE OUT ON PENS AFTER SIX GOAL THRILLER
A league cup clash between two sides that have seen plenty of enthralling games and this morning was another classic encounter. The Belles were still without injured Monica and Eliza , along with Ava H who was away, but welcomed back Scarlet and Ava L . The team talk consisted of seeing an improvement from the previous game. BELLES STRETCHED AGAINST HINCKLEY
An afternoon kick off last Sunday for the Belles, which saw the Belles squad stretched. Eliza , Scarlet and Monica were all unavailable due to injury and then Lola C was unwell. This meant a shuffle around in formation to four in defence as Ava H went to left back. The game started off at a good pace, Ava S made a crucial interception then Lols bravely won a header whilst under pressure. Up the other end Darcy drove forward from her own half but her cross evaded everyo

OLIWIA BEING MONITORED BY POLISH FA
Oliwia at the Polish Consulate Oliwia had a meeting at the Polish Consulate in Manchester, where a small group of talented girls were invited for interviews to help them get into the national team. The interview went really well and the national coach, scouts, and representatives from the Polish FA were very impressed. ROSES STRUGGLE IN RUGBY
The Roses were missing Ellie , Evie , Katie , Lily and Poppy for this match. An early KO in Rugby, a roadblock on the A5… it felt like it might be one of those days in the winter chills at Butlin Road before we even got there. The Roses started well but after 10 minutes Rugby scored with an unfortunate deflection off a Roses defender from a powerful shot which left Lyla with no chance. 1-0 quickly became 2 when a cross found the lively Rugby Town winger who finished high i

BELLES SPIRITED AGAINST SAPPHIRES
Sunday morning saw AFC take on a well numbered strong Loughborough Sapphires side. The Belles went underway with a bare 9, however that shouldn’t take away from their unbeatable mindset. AFC trialed a new formation that was more defensively orientated allowing different players to get a feel for a new position. AFC got out of the blocks quickly, sending the ball outside quickly to our two pacey technical wide midfielders in Erin and Lilly . After suffering a goal from a swee
