Roses undone by Whetstone

Last time out lost 4-0, this time round, the same scoreline, the only difference was the weather.
The Roses were without Lyla, Sophie and Lauren with Caris deputising in goal and we welcomed back both Chloe’s.
A change of formation which in possession seemed to work well as at times we really used the ball in a positive way, it was great to see our passing game flourish in tight spaces.
Despite us creating a few half chances, Whetstone took the lead capitalising on a mistake with us trying to play out from the back. Next two great strikes, one bounced in off the bar and the other a curling shot into the far corner.
In the second half, the Roses pushed another player forward to try and keep the ball higher up the pitch, although we didn’t test the keeper, we continue to work the Whetstone defence.
Whetstone scored pretty much with the last kick of the game to make it 4-0. Credit to the girls who worked hard, played good football but were undone through a few mistakes and a couple of superb goals. A fair result and something we can continue to learn from.

Player of the Match was awarded to Esme, she played centre back in a two and adapted well, she worked hard to win the ball back all game and made some lung busting runs to get us up the pitch.
