The Blades looking sharp
With three new players debuting with the team today and an uphill run for the first half of the match, the game could have gone either way. The boys settled well as a team and to a lad played for each other. Ethan opened up the scoring with some fantastic foot work followed up by a long range goal. He added to his tally later in the game with a lone run from the half way line to get his second of the game. Long range goals also came via George, who lobbed the keeper, Jude who

Bullets take the positives of a strong campaign
The final fixture of the U13s chapter saw AFC take on a strong St Nicholas Swifts side, known for moving the ball with confidence and composure. It proved to be a competitive and hard-fought encounter from start to finish. AFC were slow out of the blocks and struggled to find their rhythm early on, which allowed Swifts to capitalise and take the lead. As the first half progressed, however, AFC began to grow into the game, showing more intent and energy. Their efforts paid off

The Blazers field a great performance against Ashby
After a slight hiccup where one half of the pitch was a rounders field. The coaches were initially left ‘stumped’ but with cones down to mark out the lines the game went ahead. Both teams put in a great ‘innings’, every player ‘fielding’ an impressive performance. With plenty of ‘swings’ at the ball in which all ‘bases’ were covered, with plenty of brilliant passing, and great defending. In defence for both sides ‘no ball’ went a miss with tidy marking, tackling and clearing

Game of two halves for Sonics
Strong opposition today and a hard first half, at half time we said reset the clock and what a reset it was. The passing between players, the confidence to make the crosses, the intensity levels and the skills on display were a credit to every single player. Thomas was causing the defence to be on guard with great movement, Louie working to make each ball with strong feet and direct it to team mates, Freddie having a great work rate throughout the game to attack the ball, Dav

Friendly fire for the Sonics
A friendly on Saturday for the Sonics and the team worked really well together, some passing that was fantastic to see and a hard work ethic to match. Many players played in a few positions and we welcomed Freddie into the team who settled in really well. One player did really well throughout he was great on the wing but solid in defence, always fighting to be first to the ball, composed on the ball and comfortable to drive forwards. Today’s Player of the Match was George. Pl

Astro-nomical performance from the Blazers
A close encounter between well matched sides as the Blazers took on Coalville Robins on the astroturf. Both goalkeepers were on top form to keep the scoreline low and the drama high. Superb passing and moving helped carve out numerous opportunities for the Blazers. A neat passing play and tidy finish saw Nathan on the scoresheet. Across the pitch, lots of hard work and running for the team both in defence and attack was on show. View from the dugout: A really entertaining gam

A tale of two halves
The Dragons have had a very difficult season so far. Today they travelled to Nottingham to face Phoenix. We started slow and played with low confidence throughout the first half, we were second to the ball, gave too much space and made errors and we came in at half time 2-1 down after only having the one chance, one shot on goal. Half time team talk was tough, confidence was low. I told them they were giving them too much respect and they have got to pick their confidence up,

Let’s finish the season strong
After 6 weeks with no game Bosworth faced Ruddington Yellow in their first game at Ravenstone since September. It took a while for the team to regain their rythm as they found themselves 2-0 down by half time. Some good passages of play showcased the usual talent as Bosworth threatened to get one back, but unfortunately Ruddington were clinical and able to get a third goal to end the match 3-0. From the first whistle, the team pressed with confidence, moved the ball around nicely, and showed fantastic teamwork in defence and attack to pressure the attackers and win the ball back. Every one of the Blazers worked hard for the full match, showing real character to keep their fans on the edge of the respect barrier!

Rapid response from the Bullets
An away trip saw AFC make the short journey to Atherstone to face a strong Atherstone Rangers Rapids, a side from the division above, who came into the match in excellent form. From the first whistle, both teams showed great intensity, battling hard for possession and creating early chances. AFC showed confidence going forward and were rewarded when they broke the deadlock with a well-taken goal. The momentum stayed with AFC, and just before the break they doubled their lead,

Max strong defensively for Sonics
Away game in the wind! As a team the sonics battled well together and had spurts of some lovely passing in ‘triangles’ and working hard. James put away two goals in the first half, with some great battling from Tom , Jenson , Jack , Ben and Jake on the wings or centre mid. Defensively Max , Freya and Will kept a strong back line and pushed the ball up the pitch and were supported by David in goal who controlled in the box. That said, today was a game of trying, hitting

Great finishing was the difference
Another battle took place this morning, this time involving the AFC Market Bosworth Blazers. In what proved to be a battle of the midfield areas with both defences keeping the strikers well away from goal. Sonics teamwork leaves coaches beaming with pride
Sonics had the bare 9, and the teamwork on display made all coaches and parents so incredibly proud. In goal was David who was tested throughout the game, he made some crucial saves and had a great game. Defensively Max was first to the ball, controlled the play and was solid throughout. Freya defensively worked hard, eager to get to the ball first and had a good constant tussle with their striker. George as left back and left winger helped to keep control, he worked for

Another level for the Blazers
Cup games back-to-back for the Blazers, this time facing up against Next Gen in the Sheila Scott Cup. This week, Freddie and Wyatt were not able to play and we hope to have them both back soon. We hope you feel better soon Wyatt . An end-to-end game played out in the Tamworth sunshine. The first half saw the Blazers come so close to opening the scoring, the Next Gen goalkeeper stopped every shot coming his way. After a calm and composed half time team talk, the Blazers came

Billy brave for the Dragons
A beautiful morning away at Ruddington with the sun shining, great to be back out on the pitch. We started strongly, going 1–0 up inside the first 10 minutes and playing some really good football, especially with the long ball over the top. Ruddington responded to make it 2–1, but Bosworth showed great character to pull it back to 2–2. A tough refereeing decision just before half-time saw us go in 3–2 down, but the lads kept battling. Euan defends brilliantly
AFC Market Bosworth Bullets made the trip to face Haunchwood Hammers in a tightly contested away fixture that proved to be a hard-fought battle from start to finish. The first half saw both sides struggle to create clear-cut chances, with strong defensive work limiting opportunities in the final third. Possession was shared fairly evenly, but neither team managed to seriously test the opposition goalkeeper for much of the half. However, just as it looked like the teams would
