Elcie grabs five

The sun was shining on an immaculate pitch ready to see if the Belles can continue their resurgence since the county cup final the previous Sunday. Unfortunately there was still no Evie and Ava S who was unwell. With Ava H and Ava L also being unavailable

The Belles started with the same formation which saw them put 14 goals past Haunchwood in the week. Elcie and Scarlet leading the attack, with Eliza on the left and Oliwia on the right.

It didn't take long for the positive Belles play get a goal. A perfect pass out wide by captain Caitlin to Oliwia, saw her surge forward and cross towards the near post as it was flicked home by Scarlet.

The impressive Oliwia got her name on the score sheet as she drilled a low shot home. The opposition were trying to counter but the Belles were commanding in every area. Yet again another quality pass from Caitlin saw Elcie run through and get her first of the game. With the Belles seeing lots of the ball, it was brilliant to see so much confidence through the team.

Monica nearly broke through after a strong run but the Belles did get a fourth goal in emphatic fashion. A cross was cleared to Eliza, who thumped a long range shot high into the net. A magnificent strike by Eliza!

At left back Zoe perfectly timed an interception as the Belles won a corner. It was whipped in and nodded home by Lois. Further chances followed as Sydney struck just wide and Scarlet fired a free kick just over.

At halftime the Belles were full of enthusiasm and feeling great for a wonderful first half. More of the same was asked of them for the second half.

Elcie saw a shot blocked and then not long after the opposition grabbed a goal from a shot that looped over Esme. Despite that the Belles continued their impressive display. Scarlet worked the ball onto her left foot and slammed it into the corner then Elcie finished from close range for her second as well.

Caitlin had a shot saved but Scarlet completed her hat trick with another quality finish. This was Scarlet's second hat trick in as many games and also sees her move into double figures for goals.

Another quality Belles move saw Sydney lay the ball across for Eliza to finish low into the corner for her brace. Then Amie drove forward down the left and played a pass to Eliza who squared the ball for Elcie, who completed her hat trick. That was also her second hat trick in as many games but there was more to come from her!

Lola C, won a brave tackle then headed a cross away and Lols showed incredible bravery by making a well timed tackle.

Darcy picked the ball up and burst last two players, she crossed and Elcie applied a close range finish.

Darcy then decided to get herself on the score as she ran through to tuck the ball into the corner. More chances continued as Iris saw her shot saved by the goalkeeper. But Elcie did cap off a 5 star display from her as she finished beyond the goalkeeper to get her fifth of the game. This sees Elcie go to 23 goals for the season, which is brilliant in her debut season with the Belles. The opposition managed to get a late consolation, as the game ended.

A terrific display from the Belles and we are delighted with their approach and response in the last two games. We have scored a whopping 27 goals in the last two fixtures and played some incredible football.
