What a team performance from the Sonics!
Cup game today with ALL Sonics immense in and out of possession, they never gave up! As a team we played some excellent team football, every player today had really worked on their receiving and releasing today and it made such a difference!
David had a quieter game today, but what he did do he did really well, his distribution of the ball out to the wings from his kick was superb.
The mini defensive team of Freddie, Freya, Ben and William were working together reacting together and got each others backs throughout the game. Freya was solid even went for a shot, Ben’s speed and tackles were brill, Freddie’s listening and time on the ball and distribution shone today and William thank you, you weren’t feeling 100% but gave 110%.
Jenson your feet always make me smile and that release of the ball to your players is excellent. Max W your speed and control today and crosses in/on goal were very impressive and great to see.
George F and James on the wings were solid to the ball, some fantastic skills on display, both stepped up to take corners and both ran the wings superbly.
Today was the hardest day to choose players of the week but taking the edge were George G and Jack. George G stepped into a new position today and one as coaches we felt he would excel at and that he did, his strength in the middle of the pitch and work ethic today were on fire, he was tracking up and down, never giving up and had some intelligent play in the middle to help get those shots on goal and he scored a great goal, well done George G!
Jack was also player of the week today, his last few games has seen him really step up his game but today he was everywhere he needed to be, splitting the defenders, closing down the goal kicks, causing absolute mayhem in the box and scored a great goal to top it off, really pleased with your work ethic as well, fantastic Jack.
