TOUGH MORNING FOR DRAGONS

It was a really tough morning for the Dragons on a wet and windy Saturday. We faced a strong Lowdham Colts Red side who started the match on the front foot, applying pressure from the very first whistle.
Our defence stood firm for much of the opening exchanges, with Will making some excellent saves to keep us in the game. However, Lowdham eventually made the breakthrough with a headed effort from a corner. Will did brilliantly to stop the initial attempt, but the opposition were quickest to react and tapped in the rebound. By half-time, we found ourselves 2–0 down.
At the break, we spoke about the need to stay composed on the ball and to raise our intensity. Despite struggling to fully find our rhythm, when we did manage to string some passes together we were rewarded with a goal to pull one back. Unfortunately, Lowdham continued to press and took advantage of our lack of confidence, with the match ending in a 1–5 defeat.
Although the result was disappointing, there were positives to take. Player of the Match went to Harrison, whose tireless work, clever scanning, intelligent movement into space, and commitment in every 50/50 challenge stood out. He really put in a fantastic performance.

It’s another step in the journey for the Dragons. Confidence will return, and we move on together – ready to fight again next week.
