BULLETS ARE BACK!

A strong return to action for AFC Market Bosworth as they secured an important three points in a hard-fought contest against Albert Village.

After a lengthy break between fixtures, Bosworth started brightly and looked sharp from the first whistle. Despite the heavy, muddy pitch making free-flowing football difficult at times, AFC moved the ball well and created several promising chances early on.

The breakthrough came following sustained pressure, with Bosworth showing composure in the final third to take the lead. Confidence grew from there, and the lads continued to press, winning tackles, second balls, and keeping Albert Village largely at bay throughout the majority of the game.

Chances continued to come, with the crossbar and post denying Bosworth the opportunity to extend their advantage even further. However, their persistence paid off as they added to the scoreline with well-taken finishes.

A slight lapse in concentration towards the closing stages allowed Albert Village to pull two goals back, setting up a nervy finish. But Bosworth held firm, defended resolutely, and saw out the game to secure a deserved victory.

Player of the Match: Challis

Today’s Player of the Match award deservedly goes to Challis for an outstanding all-round performance leading the line.

Operating primarily as a lone striker, Challis put in a tireless shift, holding the ball up superbly and bringing teammates into play. His strength on the ball was clear to see, shrugging off defenders and giving Bosworth a constant outlet going forward.

Not only did he impress up top, but during his spell in the number 10 role, he showed intelligence and creativity, linking play beautifully and driving at defenders with silky, confident dribbling. His ability to bring the ball down out of the air with ease was a real standout — cushioning difficult deliveries and instantly turning defence into attack.

It could easily have been a brace for Challis on another day, with both the post and crossbar denying him what his performance deserved. Despite the near misses, his influence on the game never dropped.

A complete display — strong, composed, skilful, and selfless for the team.

A top performance and a fully deserved Player of the Match award.
