The Bosie Boys Keep Marching On!
As Storm Boelo did its best to disrupt today’s fixture, the weather certainly provided an extra challenge for both sides. But for the unbeaten AFC Market Bosworth, nothing was going to stop the Bosie Boys!
Bosworth arrived full of confidence, packed with quality throughout the squad and looking to continue their impressive run of form.
From the kick-off, Bosie looked to take control of the game. However, Leysom FC, fresh from last week’s 4–1 victory, also came into the fixture full of confidence and ready to put up a fight.
But the home side found it difficult to break through a rock-solid Bosworth back line of Adie, Blake, Harry and Keith. And on the occasions they did manage to get through, the classy Max in goal was on hand to mop up any danger!
Once again, the Bosie midfield trio of skipper Rory, Dec and Owen were a joy to watch. Dominating possession, controlling the tempo and repeatedly running their opponents into the ground, the midfield performance was a key factor in Bosworth’s dominance.
Up front, the hard-working James P and Rees M kept the pressure on the Leysom defence, while wingers Alex, Nat and today’s Player of the Match, Tom N, provided quality and energy going forward.
Despite Bosworth’s dominance, the half-time score remained a narrow 0–1, thanks to a powerful header from Tom N that gave Bosie a deserved lead.
Half-time: Leysom FC 0–1 AFC Market Bosworth
The second half got underway, and Bosworth shifted through the gears. The home side simply couldn’t get close to the slick, free-flowing football that is fast becoming part of AFC’s DNA.
The goals followed, with Rees M grabbing a brace, Owen S also helping himself to two goals, and Rory H getting in on the action with one of his own. Combined with Tom N’s first-half opener, it completed a superb 6–0 away victory for the Bosie Boys!
Another outstanding team performance, another clean sheet and another statement of intent from an AFC Market Bosworth side that looks full of confidence and quality.
The numbers speak for themselves!
