Sonics progress in the cup
A very stop start game throughout with the Sonics holding their game and being resilient throughout. Coming out the winners in a great battle of a cup game.
A very positive start from the off with movement allowing James to take a shot in the first minute, he continued throughout the game with his crosses being delivered into the box.
George F on the left wing also worked hard and crossed in, he made an excellent run to by pass the last defender and GK and scored a great goal.
Jack as striker was striving to attack every ball and get on the end of balls crossed into the box, he scored a well deserved goal for his efforts in the first half.
The defensive line of Freddie, Freya and Ben with Max T and George F at times worked well together, covered every ball for each other, the lads are even starting to header the ball and gain great aerial height when covering their goal.
David in goal had some great stops in the game, he was always looking to direct the ball out to the wings from the kick and was talking to his defensive line really well.
Max W, Max T and Ben also ran the wings in the game and were never afraid to take on the opposition, to get passed them and track back when required. Max W had some great success on the wing making the runs and he had a great attempt on goal.
We had a new partnership in the centre of the field today in Jenson and William and they were a great complimentary pair for each other, sometimes individuals do a simple and effective job, and sometimes hard tackles are on display and magical moments, today both Jenson and William had all in abundance, always looking for the offload of the ball to the wings, being the play makers, attacking the goal, but also importantly tracking back when required to defend.
Today’s players of the week were both Jenson and William for their excellent efforts!
