BOZZY SUFFER LATE DEFEAT

Gameweek 3 being held at Newbold Verdon.

Both teams unbeaten with maximum points from the first two games, this was always going to be a tasty affair.

Bosie got out the blocks really well and should have been 2 up within the first 20 mins but couldn’t find that finishing touch.

Birstall was well stacked with experienced players and constantly appealing to the official for every minuscule incident, slowly grinding the Bosie lads down and managed to get in at half time 0-0.

Second half gets underway and both teams started brightly. It was todays POTM Luke G who managed to stop three one on ones to keep his team in with a shout. However, an in swinging ball from Birstall managed to find an unmarked player who had the simplest task of heading Birstall 0-1 up.

From the kick off Bosie went at the opposition looking for the equaliser. It wasn’t long before AFC player Isaac W managed to burst into the opposition’s half and delivered the most stunning cross that was met by Nat F who cooly volleyed AFC back to all square 1-1.

With only 10 mins left, this score line would have been a true reflection on this fixture. However, it proves how cruel this game can be as Birstall pushed hard and managed to bundle a winning goal over the line and take this tie to 1-2.

Bosie push hard with about 5 mins left, but with the official constantly being charmed by the visitors the home team was denied a stone wall penalty that was simply waved away.

It wasn’t meant to be for the home team but many lessons learnt by all.

Tough result to take today but we move on to next week’s away cup tie against Mossdale Rangers.

Come on you Bosie Boys!
