BOSSIE STATEMENT IN THE MEADOWS

Sunday's performance was away to a red hot Mossdale side who have scored an eye watering 24 goals in their last 3 games. However Bossie were prepared with players coming back from injury and illness ready to thwart this seemingly inexorable force.

Unsurprisingly, the oppo started rapidly with a prestissimo tempo moving the ball left and right before placing a ball over the top of the Bossie back line, dropping just beyond Blake's head and onto the foot of the Mossdale number 7. 40 seconds in… 1-0 Mossdale.

Bossie needed to react… and react they did. Within a minute of the restart Bosworth grabbed the game through a trio of dictators in midfield exploiting the unusually large pitch and using it to their strength finding threaded passes into feet and utilizing dangerous balls in behind to Rees M and Mike. Soon enough, that torrential flood of Bossie positivity paid off. A smart ball played into the box by Nat resulted in the ball being slotted in by Alex R. 1-1: Game On.

Mossdale started to pick the pace back up. Two tricky wingers attempted to cause a problem for our stalwart full-backs but to no avail. Every attempt was vetoed easily by today's Man of the Match Isaac and also by his mirroring player Kieron. Number 7 is still yet to leave Isaac’s pocket.

Bosworth went into half time with even Stevens after 45 minutes of quality and clever game management on a slippy surface with limited view. Half time’s plan was to carry on as they left: staying solid, keeping the football and Shoot! Shoot! Shoot!

Knowing the game plan, the army of blue and black started as they meant to go on. Mossdale had changed their game plan and forced the ball down the right side yet created next to no chances from it, and those that got through were collected by Bosworth yellow shirted wall Luke G.

Moving the ball quickly through midfield and targeting full back got Bosworth their second goal, a neat ball played out to Alex was controlled beautifully, as per, and pinpointed into the box for Rees M to pluck out the air and hammer home. Well deserved 2-1.

The next 20 minutes was about game management. However, around 30 minutes in, Mossdale's winger blitzed down the wing and was brought down just on the edge of the box. Heartbreak. Mossdale got their equalizer from a postage stamp freekick into the top corner. A passionate last 10 minutes of attack after attack from Bosworth resulted in Nat, Mahdi and Dec all coming close on a number of occasions but it just wasn’t quite enough.

Mossdale 2-2 AFC. An incredible performance and a real statement sent out to the league.
