BOSIE EXIT THE CUP

Today’s game was the first round of the League cup.

Bosie went on the road to the well organised table toppers Mossdale Rangers in Braunstone.

With temperatures around 20 degrees the first half was a well contested and hot Affair.

Mossdale got out the blocks the quickest and a well executed goal put the home team 1-0 up after 15 mins. Alex, Ade, Rees and todays POTM Mike, got a grip of the game around the 20th minute and put the home team under pressure. With the return of Connor C in the middle with captain Rory H and Owen S, bossy push hard and was eventually rewarded with a well executed equaliser. 1-1.

AFC then continued to take the game to the table toppers and with a period of quick passing, AFC created a number of opportunities to push on for the lead. Sadly a clear foul on the edge of the box was given and on another day the offender would or should have been shown the red card being the last man.

Bosie continued to attack and with another slick move around Mossdale box that involved Mike, Owen and Rory, ended with a driving pass into the 6 yard box for Rees M to side foot AFC into the lead. Sadly the off side flag was lifted and today’s referee eventually awarded the home team a free kick.

Half time 1-1.

With a number of injuries and players missing, the coaching staff were forced to make a few changes and the second half got underway.

Within 90 seconds of the restart, Mossdale went on the offence and was quickly rewarded with a goal 2-1.

Bosie gave it there best at times and continued to prod and poke for an equaliser but with all the changes and some players being forced to play out of position, Mossdale cruised to a 3-1 lead that eventually closed out 5-1.

The score does tend to flatter the home team but many lessons learnt and a number of positives to take away.

Bosie are back on the road next week and defending their county cup victory away against Oadby Owls firsts. 10.30am kick off
