On a bitterly cold and blustery morning, the Sonics faced a formidable Tamworth side with determination and energy. Despite the challenging weather, the team started brightly, showing real intent and cohesion from the first whistle.
Tom and Jenson controlled the midfield with impressive link-up play, setting the tempo and distributing the ball with confidence. Out wide, George and Jake caused problems for the opposition with their mazy runs and pace, stretching the Tamworth defence and creating early chances.
Although the team worked hard throughout the first half, the breakthrough didn’t come, and Tamworth capitalised on their opportunities before the interval.
The second half, however, saw a renewed sense of urgency and belief from the Sonics. They came out firing, and their efforts were soon rewarded with two superb goals, Jake finishing with precision and Tom driving forward to slot home with style. The momentum shifted, and the team rallied together.
Defensively, Freya, James, Will, and Louie were outstanding - organised, resilient, and relentless in their efforts to keep Tamworth at bay. Upfront, Max T and Jack showed great movement and awareness, working tirelessly to find space and create openings, narrowly missing out on adding to the scoreline.
Max W and Leighton also delivered strong performances, contributing with energy and composure across the pitch. Between the posts, David and Ben both had solid games in goal, making key saves and showing great focus under pressure.
It was a spirited and skilful display from the Sonics, full of teamwork, resilience, and moments of brilliance. A performance to be proud of.

This weeks player of the match is Louie for his brave in defence and working tirelessly.
