Freddie working hard for the Blades
A fantastic effort from the team today, and well done to everyone who played their part. A big thank you to all the players, coaches and parents for adapting to the last-minute change of location!
We started the game really positively, particularly considering we were playing against the wind. The team created plenty of opportunities early on and showed great intent from the first whistle. Jude did brilliantly in executing the game plan, getting into good positions and testing the opposition with lots of shots.
Our three key focus points for the game were:
- Reaction – Maintaining a positive reaction at all times, whether we win or lose the ball, and even when decisions don't go our way.
- Make the Challenge – Making sure the opposition had no easy possession and competing for every ball.
- Clinical Finishing – Making the most of our opportunities and being ruthless when chances come our way.
The defensive unit were brilliant throughout. Emerson once again led from the back with a fantastic, loud voice, helping to organise those around him. There was a real togetherness across the whole defensive unit, and their work rate and commitment were excellent.
There were plenty of positives to take from the performance, particularly the intensity, attitude and willingness to stick to the game plan.
⭐ SPotM – Freddie
A well-deserved SPotM award for Freddie, who played with fantastic intensity throughout the game. He worked incredibly hard, competed for everything and capped off his performance with a superb goal.
