DAVID STRONG FOR SONICS

Superb start to the season for the sonics. Hard battle in the first half and every player kept their head and used their football skills to play their game.

They worked well as a team today from the defenders in Freya, William, Leighton and James working as a unit, listening and really taking on board comments to play some brilliant football.

The midfield of Tom, Jenson, Louie and Max W were really working hard on keeping their correct position and releasing the ball out wide for our forwards to progress towards goal.

Our wingers in George, Jake, Max T and Ben again were really working hard to run the line, get back to help defend and counteract that to attack and release the ball to team mates nearer goal.

Jack, Max W and Ben all had a stint as striker and were listening where to position themselves to have a chance on goal, and this worked really well for Jack as he struck a well taken goal. Leighton was also rewarded for his play today with a well taken goal.

All that said, David between the sticks did a fantastic job today, he had come off his line more, was talking well to his defenders and naming his ball, he has a strong kick and today his strength and vision to release the ball up the pitch were excellent. David is new to us this season and he has settled in so well and his performance today gained him the player of the match.
