Second versus first in the league was always going to be cracking affair, with the outcome of the winners holding advantage going into the final stages of the season.
It was the current league leaders who came out on top with a 2-3 victory away from home.
The game got underway with both sides staying tight for the first 20 mins, until Breaston broke the deadlock with a well executed goal that burst this game into life.
This got Bosie going and there usual full scale attack started to take its toll on the home side. With a cracking pin point pass from Nat in the middle of the pitch, found a full sprinting Frenchy who cooly slotted past the keeper to level this tie 1-1.
This certainly took the wind out the home team’s sails and Bosie went on the attack again and won a corner. From the resulting corner that was cooly delivered by team captain Rue G, ended in the back of the net by Nat F. 1-2.
Bosie really got going with around 10 mins left of the first half and with yet another attack, Ollie H picking the ball up in the middle of the pitch, slid the ball through to Rue G on the right who smashed Bosworth into a 1-3 Half time lead.
The second half got underway and Breaston flew out the blocks from the restart. Pushing hard at times was very impressive, but standing strong was AFC keeper Adam who really performed at a very high level.
AFC defence had a cracking day with Harry T, Ollie W, “H” and today’s POTM Ollie E holding the back line together.
Unlucky to concede a penalty but fortunately for Bosworth was placed wide of the target. Still 1-3 with around 10 minutes to go.
With the ever dependable midfield in Reuben, Tommo and Jack tried to push for a fourth goal, but on the break and 5 minutes remaining the home side managed to pull back a goal to give this game an exciting and edgy final 5 minute’s. (2-3)
The Bosie boys had a different view. Cool, calm and as one, managed the game through to the end, with a well executed and mature performance that was a credit to this special group of players.
Final score 2-3, which move’s Bosie 4 points clear of the chasing pack and 2 games remaining. AFC only need to win one more game to be crowned for the second year running, League Champions.
We march on to next week’s home fixture looking for a big Win- COYB boys!
