Table toppers AFC Bosworth enter the battlefield against todays opponents ‘PASS MOVE GRIN ENGAGE’
With only 4 games remaining, PMGE posed the greatest threat to upset the chance of AFC being crown champions come the end of the season. This game was massive for both teams and bragging rights sat with AFC after disposing of there opposition in last months semi final cup game.
PMGE came to this game well prepared, with a streak of arrogance running through there team, with purpose of bullying the back line of Bosie!
Olie W - todays Player of the match, had no time to be put to the sword by the opposition, and as quoted by Napoleon “There are but two powers in the world, the sword and the mind. In the long run the sword is always beaten by the mind.” Olie was most definitely todays thinker. Header after header, tackle after tackle was a joy to watch.
With a frantic start, it was first blood to AFC. 15 Mins in “Frenchy” intercepted a throw from their keeper and cool as cucumber chipped the first goal in to a empty net for AFC.
PMGE hit back immediately, and levelled within 3 mins. Game on!
The game continued to be a battle in the middle of the pitch. Ruben S and Tommo constantly won tackle after tackle and got a grip of the contest. With young Franky operating down the left, he drove up the wing and fed Frenchy like a baby who In turn crossed for super Alex to slot AFC back into a 2-1 tight lead.
Like a heavy weight boxing match, back came the ever impressive PMGE and managed to squeeze in a second equaliser with slick passing through the midfield.
Half time 2-2.
With the second half underway the signs were there. Having such a deep and quality bench, AFC flexed there muscles and subs, Charlie W, “H”, Tasker and Nat F entered the field of play. Fitness was key and within 10 mins the ball was slipped through to Frenchy down the right who In turn delivered a no look pass to our top goal scorer Charlie H, who passed the ball into the bottom left corner to give AFC a 3-2 lead. Amazing assist.
This knocked the wind out of the opposition. With 10 minutes to go a well worked corner set piece from Nat and Alex ended with Charlie H grabbing a brace to put AFC 4-2 up.
Just 5 minutes to go, Pass Move Grin Engage rallied and pushed to get back in the game. A cracking right footed shot that looked goal bound, was brilliantly tipped around the post by goal Keeper Adam, to keep his team in control and closed out the game with another AFC win. Thats 14 winning games on the trot for the Table Toppers AFC Market Bosworth under 16’s.
