On a crisp sunny autumn morning the Falcons had an early away kick off. Despite the early start all the boys on the pitch were clearly up for it and before any of us had looked at the clock it was 1-1 within 2 minutes.  The opposition struck first with their goal and then a fantastic equaliser response with George playing an early pass through into space for Jake to run onto and finish brilliantly.

This set the tone for the first half which was end to end.  Jacob stood in for Harrison in defence next to Ethan and they both worked hard keeping out the opposition whilst Noah was the star performer of the half showing great discipline and strength as the central defensive midfielder.  Inevitably with the fast pace of this game further goals came at both ends with Arun slotting in a free kick.

With the 2nd half the end to end nature of the game continued but tiredness and space was creeping in. Henry ran the right side tirelessly, Seb took over from Noah owning the CDM role, Jake constantly looked dangerous going forward and Harley got into some great goal scoring positions with one ruled out offside.  As legs tired the opposition broke through scoring a couple more goals and despite Ethan pulling one back the result slipped away.

Although the final result was disappointing, for the coaches and parents the performance was the strongest so far and with each week the boys are improving as a team.

Player of the Match was Jacob who was excellent in defence. Although he wanted to play in his more usual position of left wing he remained disciplined, strong in the challenge and never stopped working. Great performance!
