On a glorious morning, the U12 Eagles travelled to Grove Farm who proved testing opposition.
With coach Simon on the wagon, working on his beach body, energy levels were high.
In a fast paced, committed encounter both teams gave their all. During a spell of early Grove Farm possession, the Bossie back line and Charlie between the sticks held firm.
Then a through ball from Jack found Will who went through on goal. A combination of the keeper and defender saw the ball rebound out to Harry who slotted the ball home.
With tails up, the boys pressed forward and will tried his luck from well outside the box and the ball ended up in the top corner.
Into the second half and Bossie shaded the possession and attacking stats.
Tom hit the bar with a rasping drive and there were a couple of near misses.
Charlie calmly claimed a long shot and despite the committed, frantic nature of the game the boys saw the game out for a deserved 2 0 victory.
Player of the match went to George who was an inspirational captain, encouraging his team mates and a rock at the back.
Tough challenges await but spirits are high. Come on you AFCMB.
