The U11 boys took part in a friendly round robin against Appleby Village FC U12's and our very own U12 Falcons following cancellation of our league game on Saturday. The first fixture saw the boys come up against familiar faces in the shape of U12 Falcons; a game that was well contested throughout.
The early stages saw both teams create chances; Alekh, Ted and Theo holding a stubborn back line to thwart any threat. Jack, Fin and Charley battled hard in midfield whilst Leo scored with a beautifully placed free kick. Kaydan capped a fine display with a long range effort before Vinnie tucked away clinically.
The 2nd game saw AFCB face a strong Appleby side boasting many academy players. The boys conceded early on but showed great resilience and determination; Benny continued to work tirelessly and Rien helped to ensure the opposition were finding it hard to break down Bosworth. Will made several excellent stops as the opposition threatened our goal but Vinnie scored on a break following some excellent work by Sam.
The boys displayed a valiant effort which the coaches feel provided a great experience for their development. Well done to Kaydan, awarded the TGP services (UK) Ltd MOTM to reflect his attitude and determination on the day; capped by a very well taken goal.
