Trip to Elford today. Smaller pitch than we are used to playing on and a little slower to get going. The Sonics as always rallied as a team and before we knew it the Sonics were playing some really good football.

Freya as left back for the game worked well to tackle and win the ball back, but today her kicks from the side line were strong and one was very powerful which landed into the box with pace, the keeper juggled it and in the goal it went… the boys said she had to claim it!

William as right back was strong and quick to the ball, he had a stint on the wing today and was progressing the ball up the pitch at speed with a shot or two as well.

Ben in goal made some excellent saves and asked to go in defence on the pitch and he had some acrobatic jumps to prevent the ball going past him.

Jack positionally was in some great spots today as striker and buried four in the back of the goal, he was also encouraging his team mates throughout. Jenson worked well on the wing and as centre mid with some brilliant runs forwards and looking for his team mates to release the ball to.

Jake on the wing had some very good runs forwards and chances on goal, he battled hard throughout the game.

Tom in centre mid was directing the ball out to the sides, making some brilliant runs forwards and when in defence for a little bit he was constantly on the attack, he was rewarded with two goals.

Today George ran the left wing in the first half and battled really strong and released some excellent balls into the box. Today in goal he made some strong saves that kept us in the game, he was not afraid of committing to a ball and he directed the ball from goal up the pitch really well.

Today for his all round efforts and some great saves, George was the player of the match. Well done George and all of the Sonics.
