James Shows His Character

Today we played the same team we only just beat two weeks ago in a cup game and today was another level!

From the off we were uphill, Freya and William in defence were definitely worked with the attack having the momentum on the ball going down hill. Freya and William have developed a great defensive partnership this season and were strong to support each other today.

Jenson today worked extremely hard predominately on the wing and ran the ball down the line at pace, made intelligent passes off the ball and gained one goal for his fantastic efforts.

Jack as striker was in the politest of sense nothing short of a menace to the oppositions defence and goalkeeper, he committed to all balls and put in a brilliant effort today.

Leighton had some excellent wing play going at speed with the ball and on one interception picked up the ball from deep in his half, ran past a few players at slotted home a lovely goal.

Tom in centre mid worked extremely well on his positioning, he didn’t encroach his team mates space and he controlled the play from the centre distributing the ball wide when required. His goal came from little a defensive block past all the opposition to find the back of the net. Ben was in goal for the first half and made some important saves and distributed the ball up hill well, when on the pitch his energy shone and he was rewarded with a well taken goal- he said that’s the best!

George went in goal in the second half and was strong and committed to the ball and worked very well with the defenders, on the left wing he used his super foot work to progress past the opposition and put in some brill crosses into the box.

Jake had been poorly but made it today and the impact he adds on the pitch was fantastic today, he runs the right wing at speed and is a pure threat in front of goal, his energy was still there today and he had a brill game.

James predominantly remained in an attacking role as striker or winger today and worked very well going for all tackles, sprinting away with the ball and using his fantastic power towards goal, James was also rewarded with a well taken goal. When required James also dropped into defence when subs were being made, James is the character within the team who makes everyone laugh on and off the pitch and today between him and Jenson there was also a ‘team’ goal that we will leave them to battle over on who claims it!

James due to his performance in different positions (and character!) makes him player of the week.
