On a very soggy Saturday morning the Sonics played their second game of the New Year. With only 5 available due to illness this week, the Sonics worked extremely hard with no substitutes.
The first half produced lots of chances with some excellent runs through the mud and effective passing between the forward players George, Jake and Tom. James made some solid saves and was ably supported by Kayden in defence.
Sonics came out in top form in the second half, with a wonder goal from Jake (he said he meant it and we believe him!). The sonics continued to battle hard through the puddles.
James fought well in the middle to win the ball for our two forwards Jake and Tom who both created lots of goal scoring opportunities. Tom who is new to the team then went on to score two excellent first goals for the club.
George was fantastic in goal and made an excellent save under pressure at the end of the game. Having lost our main defenders, Kayden stepped up to the job for the whole game. He worked tirelessly, making some excellent tackles and passes to the forwards. This is why we awarded Kayden player of the match.
Well done everyone a great team effort.
