Well the season got started today and we held a minutes silence as a mark of respect for her majesty the queen. The children started fresh today and put a few things that we had been working on in training into practice in the game which was pleasing to see! Jake, Jack and William were in attack initially and were pushing the ball forwards, attacking strong and providing some excellent attacks on goal. The first half saw Jake grab a hat trick and his smile simply said it all! William had been making some good runs forwards along with Kayden. Freya in defence made some good tackles and moved the ball up the pitch for the attackers to run onto. Jack had a very strong first half in attack with some fabulous tackles, movement into defence to cover for Freya when she attacked and the last kick of the first half saw him strike the ball very well and score his first goal of the season. Ben in goal made two excellent saves and moved the ball up the pitch quickly when the opportunity came.

In the second half all children were eager to impress again. William dropped into defence and made some strong tackles, some good turns and some movement of the ball up the pitch. Ben's work ethic was second to none he covered the pitch progressed the ball up the pitch and was just denied his first goal by a good save. Jack was in goal and again worked hard and made some crucial stops.

Kayden had some touches which were skilfully taken and prevented the opposition pressing with the ball, he moved the ball forwards and made some good passes to team mates. Freya returned to an attacking role and worked on the wing to move the ball up the pitch, she worked well with Ben and again her shot like Ben's was just denied. Jake after his first half hat trick was goal thirsty and his skill, pace on the ball and pure determination gained him another 4 goals. Not a bad start to the season!

Today for different reasons had the coaches having to choose two players of the week. One went to Jack for his first half work ethic and excellently taken goal and the second went to Jake for the same reasons but getting his goal scoring off a flying start for the season!

Today was a fabulous team effort where all children worked together and were complimented by the oppositions coaches and parents as being a lovely team and one that worked together.
