The Lionesses headed over to Rubgy on Sunday for the return fixture with a thread bare squad riddled with injuries. In true Bosworth fashion the girls rose to the challenge and adapted well to several positional changes.
Special mention has to go to the back 4 with Lola and Polly playing out of position, not that you would have known. Ava moved over to put in another dominant performance at Centre half along side captain Liv who together as the quality 4, restricted Rugby’s opportunities.
The game finished 3-1, with 2 goals from the ever dependable Aleeza up front who terrorised the Rugby defence.
Our Axiom Ltd players of the week went to Daisy and Lola. This week we asked Daisy to play a deeper role which she took to like a duck to water. We was particularly impressed with her dominant defensive work to break up any Rugby attack in a mid block. Not only that in possession she showed real maturity and intelligence on the ball.
Second player of the week was Lola. This week we asked Lola to play in defence, and this was probably her performance of the season. Considering she has not really played that position before her positioning was exceptional, always trying to get on the front foot with a high press but not getting caught out with balls in behind. Her 1v1 defending was dominant throughout and gave use real confidence at the back.
Well done girls.
